L E T T E R F RO M T H E E X E C U T I V E D I R E C TO R Dear Friends:

The 2010-2011 school year got off to a great start with the a newly finished building. The Phase II Renovation Project was completed in the late summer of 2010, allowing us to enjoy new classrooms, a computer lab, a science lab, a cafeteria & kitchen, a gymnasium, and a library. Our new facilities greatly enhanced the programming capabilities of the Academy. Our afterschool program expanded to provide many new opportunities for enrichment and extracurricular involvement, including Floor Hockey, Fitness Club, Cooking Club, Robotics, Glee Club, and Green Team (recycling). And the Academy used additional space to host parent education classes during Evening Study periods so that parents could attend while their sons completed their homework. A new Alumni Support Center enhanced the Academy’s ability to host and work with returning alumni, and Bellesini became the host site for the Saint John’s Prep SAT prep classes. I want to thank those of you who invested in the lives of these young men—those who believed in the power of education to transform lives and equalize the playing field for students living in poverty. Our donors are the indisputable reason for our students’ success. I hope that you will continue to partner with us to help more students reach their full potential. With gratitude,

Julie DiFilippo Executive Director
