THE FIRST DAY IT’S ALWAYS TIRING! After a day with my family to celebrate Easter, I went to bed at 1 o’clock but at 4 o’clock I had to get up. We went to the airport at 5.40 and we were all sleepy but we sang some songs for Marta’s birthday. She is a lucky girl because she feasts her birthday in Spain! A lot of us were anxious for the weight of the bags, but only Gloria and Carlo had problems. Someone were anxious because they were scared of the travel and of the plane. I was near Margot and all the time she shouted because she was afraid and when the plane started to go she took my hand and started to pray. The journey by plane was a bit long but we arrived all in the land. We arrived in Madrid at 10.30 and we travelled 6 hours on a beautiful bus. The landscape was really wonderful and different from Italy. The land is red and there are a lot of rocks. In Spain the environment is exploited very well: there are a lot of “wind farms”, a lot of trails and a lot of people who run the bike or walk. The roads are better and larger than Italian roads and the cars don’t go as fast as in Italy. When we arrived in Verin we were a bit worried because it’s a poor zone and the village it’s not so 4
beautiful. The students that hosted us are quite rich because they go in a private school and all their houses are very very good. Martina and me stayed together, hosted by Pablo and we have a flat only for us. We have 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a big living-room. All the flat is made by wood and marble: I LOVE THIS HOUSE The Pablo’s family is sweet and kind with us: the mother is an English teacher so it’s easy talk with her but Pablo’s father doesn’t speak English but he understand Italian (it’s quite similar to Spanish). In the evening we ate a very big sandwich in a bar while the Italian and Spanish boys watched the football match. Pablo told me that in Spain it’s a tradition watch football in a bar with a glass of beer. In Spain the food is more economic than ours. A coca-cola in Italy costs 2.50 euros, here 1.00. There is only a bad aspect: all the food is spicy.

Third day 4-4-2013 Today’s one of the Spanish girl’s birthday. Two days ago it was mine, and my classmates have given me a very nice present! I like it a lot! It’s a strange necklace and it seems like a pair of headphones.
Today we went to Chavez in Portugal. We were alone, our friends stayed at school to have lesson. Chavez is about 17 km - about 20 minutes – far from Verìn. The strange thing is that you change state and you are in Portugal, so in a few minutes we changed hour – one hour less – and phone operator! In fact, before visiting Chavez, we went to a place called Eurocity. Here people are trying to make it easier to move from one state to the other. They explained us that it’s incredible to change and to have so many differences in a such short space. In Chavez we visited the town hall and the church. One of the authorities spoke to us about the city and about the great opportunity that our journey will bring in our lives and how it will change our way of thinking.

Then we visited the sulfur water spring, a source of water used for Spa -the water dropped out at about 76-. We had lunch and in the afternoon we went to visit the roman museum and a tall tower. We walked up a lot of stairs! We had a funny guide and we took a lot of photos of him!
I can’t stand the weather!! Now it’s sunny, then it’s raining!!
We went home at about 19.00 and I went out for dinner with some Italians and some Spanish. After that we went to a pub called Galeon. It was a nice place where people could dance, stay together and drink. We are just arrived home, and now I’m going to bed. I’m so tired!!

“The day of tears” We are all together. We are all crying. Yesterday night was so perfect… We were out for all the night and we danced a lot in a disco called “Camelot”! Now it’s 7.00 o’clock a.m. and we are leaving… I don’t really know how to feel about it, this situation…this moment…those people make me feel like a queen without a reign, without a throne, without a coat…disarmed. Every hug hurts me, and my eyes are filling with tears. I feel so close to them right now and it’s a strong feeling. But now we must leave… I’m speechless. Now I’m in the bus which is taking us to Madrid, a lot of pictures come through my mind. There are some shadows knocking in my head…”memories”, there’s a fire starting in my 8
hearth…”sadness”, there’s a feeling growing in my soul… “LOVE”. I will keep these moments forever and when I miss my Spanish friend I’ll just look inside my heart and they will be here… Now I’m tired and I’m going to fall asleep. Thank you “Comenius Project”, you gave me the best opportunity I’ve ever had. THANK YOU. The End (…maybe not) Sixth day
