SEASON PREVIEW The Baseball staff is very excited about the 2020 season that is fast approaching. This year’s team has 2 returning position player starters from the 2019, which finished 2nd place in the GMC. Although we may not be as experienced in years past, this could be one of the most talented teams we have had. The Thunderhawks will be very talented at the plate, on the mound and defensively. Pitching is always the key to the success of any season and we have a great deal of talent at that position. The Thunderhawks have a very talented pitching staff. This group includes: returning pitchers, Nathan Haberthier (Ohio State Commit), Andrew Bachman, and Cole Talarek. The newcomers bring a wealth of talent and depth. They are Evan Whiteaker, Jordan Boudinet, Connor Frank, Reece Hinkel, Conlin Melody, Campbell Spradling and Jack Villareal are all capable and battling for innings. This Pitching depth and talent could make the Thunderhawks serious contenders in the Greater Miami Conference. The offensive and defensive projection are very encouraging with the returning starters Mitchell Vincent (College of Charleston Commit), Preston Dorsey (Wittenberg Commit), and returners Andrew Gooding, Ryan Campbell, Dylan Risola, Cole Adams and Troy Dilley. In the outfield we have one returning player in Max Mikkelson. He will be joined by talented newcomers, Evan Whiteaker, Kyle Stoughton, and Collin Sweeney. The Thunderhawks return Michael Sprockett and added Alvi Laguna to give depth and talent at the catching position. Every season and team is different and we are very excited about the talent and depth on this team. They are a very close group and have very good leadership. We are looking forward to all the challenges that the GMC provides and playing some great baseball this spring. DATE

SEASON PREVIEW Lakota East Boys Lacrosse 2020 is all about developing a new competitive culture while maintaining enjoyment in the game. Senior Captains Ben Domina, Bryce Smith, and Brett Murcko along with Junior Captains Braxton Rich and Will Edkins are leading the team both on and off the field. Expectations are high this season as a majority of the players are returning from last season and the addition of a strong freshman class.

2020 SEASON PREVIEW & COACHING STAFF
SEASON PREVIEW The 2020 Lakota East Track and Field team returns with sights set on making a run for championships this season. We are the defending Girls GMC Champion, Girls District Champion, Girls Regional Champion, and the Division 1 Girls State Champion. The men and women return with key sprinters, distance runners and field event specialists who are a great mix of strong talent across the board. The sprints & hurdle group is coached by Head Coach Rodney Heath, Kelly Wegener, Michael Dwyer, Jimmy Turner, and Kimberly Heath. Leading this group on the men will be the 2019 District 100m Champion & 2020 OATCCC Division 1 Indoor State 60m Champion senior Rodney Heath Jr. Rodney will compete in the 100m & 200m events. Junior Joshua Thornhill returns to compete in the 400m & 200m events as well. Leading this group for the women will be senior Serena Clark (100m & 200m), senior Heather Strauss (400m), and senior Dawn Hilton (100m, 200m, 400m). Serena is the 2020 OATCCC Division 1 Indoor State 60m & 200m Champion. She is a member of the 2019 OHSAA Division 1 State Record Holding Champion 4x100m relay team. Serena is the defending 2019 District and Regional Champion in the 100m & 200m. She is the 2019 OHSAA State Runner-Up in the 100m. Heather is a 2019 Regional qualifier in the 400m. She was also part of the 2019 OHSAA Division 1 State Qualifying 4x400m relay team, which holds the school record. Also part of that record-breaking 4x400m team was Leighton Heiner who is also the District champion in the 800m. Dawn is a member of the 2019 OHSAA Division 1 State Record Holding Champion 4x100m relay team and the 2019 OHSAA Division 1 State Runner-Up 4x200m relay team which holds the school and Lakota District records. Sophomore Azariyah Bryant is a key returner for the sprints and long jump. She is a member of the 2019 OHSAA Division 1 State Record Holding Champion 4x100m relay and the 2019 OHSAA Outdoor Division 1 State Runner-Up 4x200m relay team, which holds the school and Lakota District records. Junior Camiyah James is a key returner for the jumps and sprint relays. She is also a member of the 2019 OHSAA Outdoor Division 1 State Runner-Up 4x200m relay team, which holds the school and Lakota District records. Junior Anna Kluesener is a key returner in the hurdles. She is a 2019 GMC, District and Regional finalist in the 300mH. She is also a 2019 GMC and District finalist in the 100mH. Leading our distance group will be Adam Thomas and Lee Sellers The women’s distance team will be loaded coming off of a runner-up finish at the State cross-country championships. Included in the group is Danielle Horter (senior), the defending GMC 1600 meter Champion and Kelsi Harris (junior), the defending GMC 1600 meter Champion. Carly Spletzer (junior, State 3200 meter qualifier in 2018), Hailey Wilson (senior), Paxton Oberhaus (junior), Cali Reynolds (sophomore), Sarah Renfro (sophomore), and Jocelyn Willis (freshman) will all add quality depth to every event from 800-3200 meters, as well as the 4 x 800 meter relay. The men’s distance group will be led by up-and-coming star, Ashton Gibbs (sophomore). Ashton made huge improvement during cross-country and is very fit coming into the spring. He should make a statement in southwest Ohio, and possibly the entire State, at 1600 and 3200 meters. The rest of the distance team is very young, and very talented. It will be interesting to see who emerges this spring as the varsity team. Sophomore Haitham Eid and junior Will Gibson hope to lower their 800-meter times this spring in an effort to further improving the 4 x 800 meter squad that came on strong at the end of the 2019 season.
