ASEBALL season

Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. Head Varsity Coach Matt Brotherton and our entire coaching staff have worked hard to prepare our student-athletes to perform to their greatest potential. They have put in countless hours of hard work and dedication to our student-athletes and deserve your support. The Athletic Department also appreciates the hard work of the many people involved who help support our athletic programs: groundskeepers, custodial staff, clerical staff, administrative staff, and the Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Education. Without their efforts the Athletic Department would not be able to operate. Finally, a big thank you to the Live Oak Athletic Booster Club, an organization that we simply could not do without. This great organization has helped all of our

student-athletes over the years with thousands of dollars of financial support to continue the strong programs and facilities we enjoy at Live Oak. But more than the thousands of dollars the Boosters have raised, it is their commitment, dedication and tireless devotion to our student-athletes that make it a first class organization. The Athletic Department and the Acorn student-athletes appreciate the Boosters support immensely. I strongly encourage you to not only join, but to be an active member of this worthwhile organization. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the school library. Thanks for coming and enjoy the game! GO ACORNS!

HEAD COACH a message from the

I would like to start off first by saying thank you to all the supporters of Acorns baseball. LIVE OAK ACORNS BASEBALL HAS A LONG-STANDING TRADITION OF SUCCESS ON AND OFF THE FIELD. One aspect (if not the greatest) of the Acorns Baseball tradition is the loyal fan base and support of friends, families, alumni and the Morgan Hill community. We proudly look forward to carrying on the Acorn tradition in 2020. THE 2020 SEASON IS POISED TO BE ANOTHER GREAT YEAR FOR LIVE OAK BASEBALL. We have nine returning Varsity players. We also have a great group of young freshmen and sophomores whose talents will continue to develop over the next 3 and 4 years. We are very excited to work with these young players and watch them grow. We are also excited for the opportunity to coach our juniors and seniors in what will be some of their final games in an Acorns uniform. The 2020 Acorns will look to continue our storied tradition of winning championships looking once again at competing in the CCS playoffs. Most importantly, the coaching staff looks to carry on the great tradition of developing Acorns players off the field. Many Acorns baseball players have gone on to play collegiate and professional baseball. Many more Acorns baseball players have gone on to great careers, established families, and have been contributing members of the respective communities they have settled in. WE HOPE THAT THE 2020 ACORNS WILL ENJOY THEIR TIME SPENT TOGETHER, WILL COMMIT TO WORKING HARD EVERYDAY ON AND OFF THE FIELD, WILL STAND TALL IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY, AND WILL TAKE GREAT PRIDE BEING A PART OF THE LIVE OAK BASEBALL TRADITION. We believe that commitment, honesty, accountability, mastery, and pride will lead to a successful 2020 season. But more importantly will help lay a foundation of habits that will lead to success for many years after baseball. Thanks again to all of the Acorns baseball supporters and we look forward to seeing you in attendance throughout the 2020 season. GO ACORNS!

Matt Brotherton
