PHANTOM NATION 2020 BASEBALL & SOFTBALL SEASON
Thank you for supporting our student-athletes! Your attendance and positive support at our athletic events means the world to our students and coaches and is the backbone of Phantom Nation. The game you are watching today is the product of many hours of hard work, sacrifice and commitment. Please show them how much you appreciate their effort.
OUR BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PROGRAMS HAVE LONG AND STORIED HISTORIES AND I LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING OUR PHANTOMS MAKE MORE GREAT MEMORIES ON THEIR NEW FIELDS.
The support of our community to build and maintain such wonderful facilities such as Kennedy Field, the Varsity Softball Field, and surrounding complex speaks to the importance of providing valuable extracurricular opportunities for our students. Special thanks to the many parent volunteers and our outstanding maintenance department for their continued efforts in making Phoenixville shine! We have some of the best and brightest students-athletes in the Pioneer Athletic Conference and we are looking forward to another exciting year. I hope that you’ll join us for many of the other great happenings on-campus during the year. Visit www.PhoenixvilleAthletics.com for a full schedule of activities and athletics events. Enjoy the game and GO PHANTOMS!

DOC KENNEDY A TRIBUTE TO
The varsity baseball field at Phoenixville Area High School’s namesake John “Doc” Kennedy spent his career dedicated to Phantom Athletics. Kennedy served as the PAHS Head Baseball Coach for 20 season (1979 to 1998), amassing a spectacular record of 323 wins and 99 losses.
Kennedy’s Phantoms won six Pioneer Athletic Conference Championships and three District One Championships. The 1982 Phantoms finished fourth in the PIAA State Playoffs and Doc’s teams qualified for the District One Playoffs in fourteen of his twenty seasons. The Phantoms reign atop the Pioneer Athletic Conference included three undefeated league seasons and a 37-game winning streak. Kennedy’s players saw success at all levels of the game, including nine players drafted, five players inked professional contracts and 55 went on to play in college. Following his career at Phoenixville, Kennedy coached collegiately at Villanova University and now serves as a scout for the Boston Red Sox.
