Athletic coordinator It is with immense enthusiasm that I write for the Porter High School Baseball Program. The excitement that our students have brought thus far to PHS through extracurricular activities has started a chain reaction of incredible spirit. I wish all of our athletic programs a great year and look forward to each of them building programs that exemplify that SPARTAN PRIDE! We hope that you will enjoy tonight’s game and that you appreciate all of the many hours of hard work and preparation that the contestants and coaches have put in prior to tonight’s game. The great accomplishments of these athletes are based not on the outcome of the contest, but rather on what they receive through their participation. Extra-curricular participation allows students to truly learn the value of hard work, loyalty and dedication. More importantly, our students are taught the discipline and sacrifice through their involvement that will provide them with the foundation to be successful in all life endeavors. This year’s team is a veteran squad returning nine varsity players from the 2019 team that made the play-offs. We have lost some key players and leaders from last year’s squad, but have eager players ready to prove themselves and fill those roles. This year’s team has a lot of talented athletes which will make us competitive every time we take the field. As a team we also have the great backing and support of the administration, faculty, Porter Spartan Booster Club and the athlete’s parents who are an integral part of our success on and off the field. I am proud to say I have witnessed the players of this program develop discipline and demonstrate a strong work ethic during off-season. I am excited to see how far these young men will go this season as they continue to develop and strive for excellence. We are hoping for a great season and are ready to face the challenges ahead and continue to grow as a team.
