A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD COACH DEAR SHELDON BASEBALL FANS, I’m honored to be the new coach of a program as rich in history as Sheldon Baseball. During my tenure with the Eugene Challengers, I had the opportunity to work with former Sheldon coaches Stan Manley, Tyler Martell, and Kellen Hobie to bring Sheldon players into American Legion baseball. During that time, I observed the steadfast work ethic Sheldon players brought to the diamond and the overwhelming support the Sheldon community offers this program. I am thrilled to join such a supportive community and lead this program. Thank you for your warm welcome. The future of Sheldon Baseball looks bright. This year’s varsity team will return six players that started or logged significant innings for the Irish last season: Seniors Cory Apker, Kaleb Coffin, Dawson Prickel and Quincey Spurlock; Junior Cardin Haffner; and Sophomore Taylor Langworthy. They will be joined by Seniors Sam Carson and Hunter Bang, and a mix of underclassmen, to set the tone for the future of Irish Baseball. Our Freshman and JV teams look to be extremely competitive as 20 Freshmen and 15 Sophomores rolled into the spring competing for spots on one of our three teams. A special thanks to all of our parents, teachers, and sponsors that work behind the scenes to support our players and help our program achieve success. I’m looking forward to a great season. Go Irish!

A MESSAGE FROM THE

HEAD COACH WELCOME TO THE 2020 IRISH SOFTBALL SEASON! 2019 was a year of firsts for the Irish softball program‌First state championship. First Southwest Conference league championship. First victories over North Medford. First 25-win season in school history.

The team is fired up and determined to make 2020 a year of seconds! With five returning seniors coming back to lead the way, the Irish will be a team to be reckoned with again in 2020 as the team strives to win its second state and conference titles. The 2020 senior class features the reigning 6A pitcher of the year, Camille Leach, along with seniors Rylee Valentine, Jordan Henderson, Kelsi Sorensen, and Yesenia DeLaRosa, all of whom have garnered all-league honors during their careers. Between them, these five seniors have played in over 370 games for the Irish and have helped to lift the Irish softball program to unprecedented heights. Together with a talented group of juniors and underclassmen, this group is poised for another big season! The Southwest Conference is always the deepest and toughest conference in the state, and 2020 will be no different with perennial powerhouse teams like Grants Pass, North Medford, and Roseburg setting their sights on knocking the Irish out of the top spot. Overall, the SWC has produced seven of the last twelve state champions at the 6A level, and over that same period 19 SWC teams have reached the state semifinals and 25 have reached the state quarterfinals. In addition, the Irish have a challenging slate of non-conference opponents on its schedule, featuring top contenders Tigard, McMinnville, and 2019 state runner-up Tualatin. We hope to see you at the ball field this year as the Irish look to make 2020 a year of seconds! GO IRISH!
