To Call or NOT to Call... David Rosen of High Desert Law answers our questions about when to call lawyer, and talks about free legal advice. Terie: As an LMT, I am often asked, “Should I call a Lawyer for my Injury?” David: If you’re wondering if you should call a lawyer for injuries caused by someone else, the short answer is YES, you should call. The call is free and the sooner you call the better. Regardless if you actually hire the lawyer, having a consultation early on can be invaluable to find the path forward for not just the personal injury part, but health recovery in general. Terie: Why is it free? Sometimes these free calls turn into clients and that’s how we can continue to do what we do; but for the most part, I’m trying to help get folks get back on their path. Outside of my job, I serve as chair of the Deschutes County Access to Justice Committee, which staffs the Lawyer in Library program at the Bend library. Part of the Access to Justice gap across all areas of law is that folks are reluctant to call a lawyer. My feeling is that everyone should be able to get assistance finding the information they need. Terie: If it’s free to call, what keeps injured people from calling? David: Sometimes, people are worried about being portrayed as making a bigger deal than it is, and as a result, they fail to see a doctor, or even acknowledge the pain they are in. People hesitate to call until bills start piling up or pain becomes unmanageable. Insurance and big business have done a good job controlling the messaging for decades and it affects those who really need help. If you woud like to know more about that, check out the documentary Hot Coffee on Netflix. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes.
The fact is, a desire for justice and validation does not make you a villain. Your injury case should be taken seriously and you should not apologize for it. bendhealthguide.com | BEND HEALTH GUIDE

SPRING 2020
NATURE THERAPY By William T. Sweigert IV
Last Summer, my family went on an epic hiking adventure of a lifetime to find a remote, hidden Lake in celebration of my father’s 70th Birthday. I took hundreds of photos to recall our journey that involved camaraderie, dedication and courage as it was a difficult hike. Photos are mere shadows of an adventure that few will ever know. Their only purpose is to remind you of the stories you have to tell. Like so many things in life, this place is not found through planning and wit, but only through sheer determination and grit. Many will ask you how we got there, and though it is on a map I cannot tell you the way. I would take you there but we might not get there at all and we wouldn’t care. Words will not tell you, pictures can not show you, though so much beauty is in this natural place, the greater beauty is always in the hearts of those who go together. I cannot thank my dad enough for showing me this place, but more I cannot thank him enough for showing me that you can get there. You will cry and stumble, swearing never to do it again but rejoice upon arrival. Ask me next summer to take you and I will have my pack ready. Some say taking a picture might steal a soul away. Only a slight imagining of the soul of this place is possible. Thank you to all those who weren’t able to come. Your love blessed our every footstep and held us fast to the mountains edge.

High Desert Chiropractic has a long
history of serving this wonderful outdoor community in our family friendly office. Drs. Josh and Brandi moved to Bend 18 years ago to be in nature with the intention to raise their family enjoying the outdoors and experiencing a happier, healthier life serving families in central Oregon.
ne of our goals has always been organic healthcare for the body. At our office you know you’re more than just a back, a headache, or a crying baby. The doctors and staff strive to meet individual needs with all of their specialties. Dr. Brandi Kuhn, Dr. Chirsteen Perkins and Dr. Alyssa Salava are Pediatric Chiropractic specialists who treat tongue tie, earaches, colic and torticolis. and babies with inability to latch. They work with peri-natal moms to help them function optimally before pregnancy, during pregnancy and postpartum, after baby arrives. Dr. Josh Kuhn has a family based chiropractic practice that treats everything, including sports injuries, whiplash, TMJ, headaches, and arthritis. Massage therapy, cold laser, and gentle adjustments are included to benefit a wide variety of conditions. His goal is to get you back doing the things you love as soon as possible! Often we recommend patients get outside and enjoy where we live. It has been proven that nature helps us cope with pain because we are genetically programmed to find trees, plants, water, and other nature elements engrossing. Being absorbed by nature distracts us from our pain and discomfort. Take a moment walking the river trail, conquering a hike or sharing some turns with friends up at the mountain. Any amount of time out in nature can reduce stress, increase mental clarity, release pain and tension, plus balance hormones. Even images of nature can have a similar health benefit. Our office has a nature focus with a fish tank, plants and images of trees. We follow Feng Shui design principles to create a space that respects nature’s elements. Outside we have a living roof on our bike rack, a xeriscaped natural aesthetic landscape that changes with the seasons. You can do this in your own workspace, too. Surround yourself with images of nature to bring you joy, place a healthy plant or flowers in your work area. Take moments to breath and enjoy them though out the day. Better yet use some of your lunch break to go outside!
FIFTH ELEMENT HAIR STUDIO Fifth Element Hair Studio takes a modern, unique approach to hair care and your salon experience. As one of the leaders in green salons in Bend, they represent a shift in the industry towards a more holistic experience by embracing eco friendly products and practices. Knowledgeable, educated stylists use low toxic hair color and non toxic hair products free of chemicals, like ammonia, known to be harmful to people and the environment. The salon consciously supports brands whose philosophy aligns with the founder Sarah Marshall’s vision of cleaner and healthier ways. “In my daily life, I aim to be a responsible steward to the environment and my health. Being a hairstylist, I saw a huge opportunity and necessity to incorporate green practices into my business. I hope by sharing my vision, I can educate others in the community about responsible, holistic hair care practices, that there are options for hair products and services that don’t have to be harmful” says Sarah. The salon is a certified member of Green Circle Salons, a program that repurposes and recycles 95% of a salon’s waste including hair, foils, excess hair color and packaging. The studio is also home to dozens of plants that help purify the air and give it a clean, airy atmosphere. The usage of LED lights and water conserving shower heads also contribute to the salon’s sustainable practices. Sarah spoke with students in the OSU Cascades Sustainability Degree Program in February about her sustainability practices, what it means to make conscious preservation efforts, and the challenges she faces. She hopes to keep working with students by assessing the salon to identify sustainability measurement approaches that will provide a credible basis for even more sustainable operations. Fifth Element Hair Studio is located in The Blissful Heart Wellness Center in Downtown Bend, which is a community of holistic health and wellness practitioners.

There are several options for joining Blue Sky that match your home’s energy use with renewable energy and you do not need to have a Smart Meter to sign up for this program. eschutes Land Trust is a nonprofit organization conserving land in Central Oregon. Their mission is to work cooperatively with landowners to conserve land for wildlife, scenic views, and local communities. Since 1995, they have conserved more than 9,100 acres of land in Central Oregon, including nine nature preserves managed for the benefit of wildlife and people. Land trusts operate throughout the United States and abroad. They range from small groups run by volunteers to large, international groups. Land trusts typically conserve land in one of two ways: purchasing a property outright or by creating
a land protection agreement that stays with the land. Both methods are intended to be in perpetuity to safeguard the property’s conservation values. Deschutes Land Trust owns ten nature preserves managed for the benefit of wildlife and people. Camp Polk Meadow Preserve The Land Trust purchased and protected a 150-acre property in 2000 that includes meadows, aspen, pine stands and a recently restored Whychus Creek. The Land Trust worked with the community and key conservation partners to complete a major restoration of the meadow and
Whychus Creek in 2012. This project included hundreds of people walking the meadow on guided interpretive hikes to learn more about this place we all call home. The end result: healthier habitat for fish and wildlife and a more knowledgeable, engaged community, reconnected to place. Whychus Canyon Preserve is another signature project. The Land Trust purchased and created the original 450 acre Preserve in 2010 and added another 480 acres in 2014. Located between Sisters and Redmond, the Preserve includes four miles of Whychus Creek, outstanding canyon scenery, native grasslands and old growth juniper stands. Wildlife species abound as visitors hike a network of trails that provide public access to Whychus Creek and one of the only interpretive trails about the Santiam Wagon Road east of the Cascades.
Aspen Valley Ranch is an 18,000-acre working cattle ranch near Post. Its vast acreage stretches from the Ochoco Mountains, across Post-Paulina Valley, the Crooked River and into Maury Mountains. The land trust worked with rancher Jim Wood to create a land preservation agreement to protect his ranch’s wildlife habitat and agricultural land forever by conserving 3,748 acres of land. The Land Trust is continually working on new projects. Recent projects include a landmark effort to conserve 33,000-acre Skyline Forest between Bend and Sisters, establishment of the Land Trust’s first Community Preserve in Prineville, Ochoco Preserve. Each year, the Land Trust offers more than 150 free walks, hikes, and outings, an annual Nature Night lecture series, and a variety of volunteer opportunities. TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION
TMS is like physical therapy for the limbic system of the brain.
B
right Mind TMS + Integrative Psychiatry is excited to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to individuals with treatment resistant depression. TMS is an FDA-approved, safe, non-invasive treatment alternative to anti-depressant medications. TMS Therapy uses focused, repetitive, magnetic pulses to target areas of the brain typically under-active in people with depression. Pulses are delivered by a powerful magnetic coil placed against the left frontal aspect of the head. A precise, highly-focused magnetic field travels about 4 cm into the brain to stimulate and strengthen neurons and neural pathways in the emotional center of the brain. Brain imaging reveals increased blood flow, neurotransmitter production and glucose in this brain region during TMS treatment. When inactive neurons
are electrically charged through TMS, they begin firing and rewiring to restore function. TMS is like physical therapy for the limbic system of the brain. Individuals experience an improvement in mood, leading to recovery from depression. Neuroscience research from Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Princeton and Harvard shows promise for use of TMS in treating a variety of psychiatric and neurological issues including PTSD, migraine headaches, OCD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic pain. A typical TMS depression protocol is 6 weeks in length. After initial consultation and insurance authorization, clients engage in daily 30 minute TMS therapy over a course of six weeks. TMS targets depression on a cellular level to optimize the brain to engage in lifestyle habits aimed at maintaining sustainable recovery.
At Bright Mind, TMS is more than a treatment, it’s an experience! Patients receive individualized, lifestyle coaching focused on: • Sleep hygiene • Stress management • Mindfulness practices
• Nutritional psychiatry • Connection / Community • Movement / Exercise
The process of co-creating, practicing, and integrating health-promoting habits that are in alignment with one’s values, significantly reduces risk of relapse to optimize recovery. We hope Bright Mind TMS will be a useful resource for those interested in an innovative approach to mental health.

BEND HEALTH GUIDE | Spring 2020
So many of us can relate to this title in a too busy day and age. It seems everything takes priority over our sex life: work, bills, kids, cooking, cleaning and working out. Sex can fall to the bottom of our to do list on most days. Jane knows all about it, she lived that story, too as a busy working mom, her story is so relatable. Then she turned her life around to put her sex life first. She has 30 years of marriage to prove her methods work. She shares her effective system that will improve your love life, too. My favorite section was the Bedroom Blueprint Guide, where you proactively journal real life ways to improve your love life. It was doing that exercise that I realized, my husband has always wanted to take Salsa Dance Lessons. So I found a way to squeeze in a weekly dance class together despite our busy schedules and it is truly so much fun! You can find fun in your relationship againwhen you approach it with the same vigor you give to all the other areas of your life!
Too Busy to Get Busy! by Dr. Jane Guyn
“How can we end 20 years of marriage just because of sex when everything else is so good? We’ve got two amazing kids. We’re great friends. I’m devastated.”
I
can’t tell you how often I receive a call like this from a distraught man or woman who’s facing divorce in a sexless marriage. To solve sex problems improves relationships. As many as 40% of married couples are technically sexless in this country today. Even though couples have problems with money, housework & kids, studies show that when sex problems are solved, other relationship problems will disappear without the need for additional couples’ counseling. This is the work I’m honored to do here in downtown Bend and virtually. I’m a relationship coach with a PhD in Human Sexuality. I help couples and individuals solve their challenging, yet simple sex problems using my own 5-step research-based process. It’s respectful, safe, confidential and effective. The transformational work we do together can happen in a single 90-minute session or a comprehensive couples’ program. The real key is to recognize your desire for change and take the first step to making things right between you. If you know your sex life isn’t quite what you want it to be, but you have no idea how to change things, we should talk. Shoot me an email at jane@drjaneguyn. com to schedule a complimentary call. Or, visit my website howtofixmysexlife. com to find helpful free resources to start you on your path. No matter what people say about passion fading over time in long term relationships, you can create passion with the one you love most in this world, if you’re willing to try.
relationship coach 612. 802. 1878 howtofixmysexlife.com Our greatest desire in relationships is to love and be loved.
“We seized an opportunity to celebrate what we have created, and continue to create while working together as a loosely organized collective who made this bash happen,” a long-time community resident sums up.
time for a Garden party By Joe Benevento of dropping beets
Some mourn the loss of “real” America and that corresponding life. Our country we love is still very much alive. Where do we find it? In one word: Community. I had the pleasure of cooking for a group of neighbors living in a co-housing community called Higher Ground. They celebrated Summer’s arrival in their community garden with a party including abundant food, laughs, conversation and a friendly dog. For a garden party, I want to offer yummy food that is pleasing to the spirit and unobtrusive enough to allow neighbors to talk amongst themselves, here is what I served:
➺ ➺ Garden Party ➺ ➺ Menu
baba ganoush
with crudites, olives & sheep's milk feta fresh guacamole
watermelon gazpacho
puli-puli chicken skewers pulled pork cubano sliders
with horsey dill

Berry Good Chocolate Ganache Tart with a Nutty Crust
for the crust: 2 1/2 cups any combo of walnuts/pecans/cashews/almonds 4 dates 1/4 cup almond flour 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg for the ganache: 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips 1/2 can coconut milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 3 cups a mix of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries raw honey 1 lemon for zesting
You will need: 10 inch tart pan, food processor, sauce pan, stainless steel or glass mixing bowl, whisk, zester or grater Preheat oven 375. Grease 10 inch tart pan, set aside. In a food processor, place nuts, dates, flour and crust spices. Blend until crust is smooth and pliable. Empty it into a tart pan. Using your fingers smoosh crust down from the middle working your way to the edges of the pan. Cook for ten minutes, rotate the pan and leave in for another ten minutes. Take the crust out and chill. Fill a sauce pan with a few inches of water, bring to a boil. Place chocolate, coco milk in a mixing bowl and place on top of pan. Grab a whisk and stir. As chocolate melts, the idea is to smooth it into the coco milk and not let it get too hot. So, the best way to do that is to remove the mixing bowl from the pan and stir it for two moments. Then return the bowl over the pan, and continue to whisk. Once chocolate mixture is smooth and combined, add vanilla and cinnamon, whisk and remove from heat. Cool for few minutes. Grab the tart pan and pour chocolate mixture in until it reaches half way up. Allow chocolate to set for a moment, then add berries. Add the biggest ones first to create a cool pattern. Then, add the next size down, fill any gaps. Finally, add small berries. Once all the berries are in place, drizzle honey over the top and lemon zest. Refrigerate and let it set up and chill for 4-6 hours. Do you have any ganache left over? You’re welcome. It’s great for dipping, for your coffee, or your spoon.
Always make more ganache than you need.
It is gold and you will thank me for it!

Apothecary Cocktails by
Alyson Brown of Wild Folk
S
ummer! It's a time to celebrate the season - soak up the sunshine, wear a flower crown, dine al fresco and sip on flower-infused cocktails and mocktails. Three of my favorite flowers to include in summer cocktails are wild roses to honor self-love, elderflower to awaken a youthful spirit, and orange blossom to bring peace and happiness to the mind and body. Here are three of my favorite floral libations to sip on during these bright summer days.
The Wild Rose 1.5 oz Wild Roots Spirits Cucumber Grapefruit Gin 1.5 oz wild rose cordial 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters 5 pink peppercorns a splash of soda water Combine gin, wild rose cordial, bitters and pink peppercorns in a shaker with ice and give it a few good shakes. Strain into a glass and top with soda water if you wish.
Elder FLower Spritz 3 oz Brut Champagne 1.5 oz elderflower cordial lemon twist Pour elderflower cordial into a glass over ice. Top with Champagne. Gently express the oils from a lemon peel over the top of the drink and garnish with a twist.
Alyson Brown, founder of Wild Folk Flower Apothecary, celebrates a flower-infused
lifestyle, using the powerful magic of flowers to express their symbolic resonance and energetic strengths. She is currently working on her first book titled The Flower-Infused Cocktail: 50+ Flowers With A Twist, set to release Fall 2020. It's the flower lover’s favorite book with a fresh take on traditional mixology, infusing the taste of over 50 different edible flowers with history and folklore. PEOPLES APOTHECARY SUN TEAS
W
hen spring sunshine and warm days bring forth our favorite greens, weeds and flowers; sun tea is a fun way to bask in the changing of seasons. Often referred to as a “solar infusion”, this method of tea brewing requires fresh herbs (make sure they have not been sprayed), fresh water and the power of the sun to make an herbal infusion. Dried herbs can be used, but the vibration and potency when using fresh herbs cannot be overstated. Lemon balm, dandelion flowers/leaves, lavender, rosemary and any other edible fresh botanicals you enjoy will help make a tasty and unique sun tea. Fill your sterile jar half way with fresh herbs, cover with pure filtered water and put the jar lid on. Find a nice sunny spot outside or on a windowsill and allow the tea to infuse 2-5 hours. The natural warmth, light , and energy of the sun will infuse the plants aroma, flavor and medicine into your fresh herbal brew. Strain and enjoy! Add honey if desired. The longer you let the tea steep, the stronger, darker and more nutritive the infusion will become. *This will keep in the fridge for 24 hours. Children love taking part in this ritual and are naturals at listening to their intuition and being guided to plants that resonate with them. Looking to up your sun tea game? Try freezing fresh organic flowers in ice cube trays so you can add botanical magic to tea, spritzers and cocktails.

YOGA HORSE TRIBE Sunriver, Oregon
F
or millennia, horses accompanied mankind as we found our way, supplying strength and speed we simply did not have. Now that we no longer need “horsepower,” we find horses coming into a brand new role as friend and teacher. Yoga Horse Tribe is my magnum opus. It is my opportunity to share the best I have learned from three decades working among the Silent Ones. We teach natural horsemanship skills, asana and mindfulness practices, but it is awareness, flow and connection that we facilitate. We open the door and relationship does the work.” Christopher L. Edwards I dreamed of having a horse when I was a little girl. My parents could not afford riding lessons, but they would pull over to the side of the road for me to pet a horse at a fence. The first touch was like two magnets coming together. I knew they would be a part of my life forever. I was twenty-six years old when I got my first horse, Indio, my first equine teacher. Surrounding myself with horses
helped me in my darkest hours. Now, as a mental health clinical therapist in my private practice Buena Vida Counseling, I use horses to help children and adults that do not engage in traditional therapy methods. Yoga Horse Tribe brings our students back to nature, teaching compassion, empathy and understanding for our horses and all of our animals. They shine a mirror back to us of what they see. Horses are not dishonest with their emotions and needs. They teach us to have clearer boundaries and communication. Having equine teachers gives us a powerful, clarifying, and validating process that evidences they “see” us, everything we may not be able to see ourselves.” Maritza V. Encinas
themes, implementing experiential methods to ground clients to move through their fears and discomfort, to become the hero of their own lives. Both are formally trained Yoga teachers and members of Yoga Alliance. Christopher and Maritza met in Tucson, Arizona at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch fifteen years ago in the magical desert and have been sharing their love of horses ever since.
Christopher L. Edwards spent the last twenty-eight years training horses, fascinated with the horse mind, the human mind, and a growing relationship between them. Maritza V. Encinas spent twenty years treating children, teens and adults with sexual abuse related bendhealthguide.com | BEND HEALTH GUIDE

Blue Bottle from Kimimi Healing Arts When I studied Loku Lomi Massage, I was taught by a Kahuna in ho’oponopono sacred water traditions. We learned to put water in blue bottles in the Sun for 24 hours to create Solar water or to place blue bottle of water on our window sills the night of a Full Moon to create Moon Water. It was believed drinking these solar or lunar charged waters could remove dark spots from your soul, cleansing your energetic vibration. I am often asked by my clients where to get these magical blue bottles, so I decided to donate them to our boxes. kimimihealingarts.com Bohemian Roastery - Wood Fired Coffee Sampler Packs perfect for camping. We had getting out in nature & camping in mind when we created this Subscription box, so of course you will need Camp Coffee & my favorite is Bohemian Roastery. BoRo is a family run wood-fire coffee roasting company in Bend. "Each member of our family contributes to the daily function and operation of this exciting business. We all take pride in being able to provide a high quality coffee experience without using petroleum generated heat, as used by most commercial roasters. Our one of a kind roaster was designed and built as a family project making BoRo one of only a few committed roasters in the U.S. using this ancient and proven method. To roast using only select hard woods
produces a gentle, moist heat that allows the oils and flavors to develop at a slower rate, this eliminates the bitter after taste that over powers the flavor of a quality bean." Bohemian Roastery only sources beans directly from socially and environmentally responsible farmers growing in the finest coffee producing regions of the world. bohemianroastery.com 1 Jar of Local Broadus Bees Honey James Broadus Wilkie V, is the beekeeper behind Broadus Bees Honey, this is his story. • I first became obsessed with honey bees when I was studying wildlife biology at Western Colorado University. When working with bees, I was fascinated by how they live and function, they are amazing creatures. I realized their importance to agriculture and the critical role they play in our food system. Honey bees are responsible for 1/3 of every bite we eat. I learned about Colony Collapse Disorder, how massive amounts of honey bees were dying in such a short period of time. I noticed how therapeutic it was being out there working with bees. The constant low humming sound coming from their vibrating wings calmed me and I became one with nature submersing myself in the needs of the honey bees. Helping them flourish is all I cared about then and all I care about now. Giving back to the very creature that allows us to live and eat the things we eat is what I will always want to do with my life. • I have 2 groups of
bees I manage in Bend, Oregon; where the Wildflower, High Desert Buckwheat honey, and the Bee Pollen come from. I also have other varietals of honey that come from Medford, Oregon; like the whipped Raw White Clover and Oregon Blueberry. We have our soap made by Lots of Suds, a local Bend soap-maker, from our Bend Wildflower honey. The lip balm we hand-make in our kitchen. • I am originally from Atlanta, and had been beekeeping for 12 years in North Carolina before moving to Bend, in 2018 to be with my fiancé, Nikki Finley. Everything happened so intentionally and fell into place so easily, I knew I was destined to be with her for the rest of my life. I started Broadus Bees in June of 2019 at the same time we had Delilah June Wilkie on June 1st. Sage, Salt & Fire
Spiced, Roasted Heirloom Carrots with Blood Orange, Avocado, and Preserved Lemon Serves four Gather Ingredients:
• 2 bunches of heirloom carrots, roughly a pound (500g) • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds • 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds • 1/4 teaspoon granulated harissa, or other chili powder, or 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (pimentón ahumado) • 2 garlic cloves, crushed • Olive oil • Sea salt • 2 blood oranges (or regular oranges) • 2 ripe avocados • handful of cilantro sprigs (fresh coriander) • 1 lime, juiced • 1 tablespoon preserved lemon rind, diced Optional: roasted pumpkin seeds, Sea salt Method: Preheat the oven to to 350°F (180°C). Toast the cumin and coriander seeds in a small, heavyweight skillet for a few minutes until fragrant (they burn quickly), then transfer to a dish to cool. Grind coarsely using a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder. If you’re adding pumpkin seeds, toast a handful in the same heavy skillet, stirring or shaking frequently for even browning. Transfer to a plate and set aside. Remove the leafy tops from the carrots, and place the colored roots in a roasting dish, along with the crushed garlic cloves. Drizzle with olive oil, a pinch of salt, then sprinkle over the cumin, coriander, and ground chili, and roll everything around to coat. Roast for 30 to 35 minutes (depending upon the size of the carrots), until tender when pierced with the point of a knife, and lightly browned. Remove from oven and set aside. Cut away the rind of the blood oranges, removing all the bitter white pith, and then slice into 1/4-inch rounds. Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit, peal and slice. Remove the cilantro leaves from the stems for a more decorative salad, or simply chop them. Combine the carrots, oranges and avocado (I do this directly in the roasting tin to better mix in the cooked spices), squeeze the lime juice over everything, drizzle with olive oil, and add a pinch of sea salt. Toss everything to coat well. Add the cilantro (and pumpkin seeds, if using). Arrange on plates, topped with the preserved lemon rind. Enjoy, with gratitude for the chain of unknown hands that planted, tended, gathered, transported, and prepared these ingredients for our sustenance. Evolution continues. Drawing upon his training as a Paris-trained chef, River now returns to the kitchen and launches Sage, Salt & Fire, focusing on building a beautiful, healing, and sacred relationship with food.
