Council Votes To Close Site A container site at
Eaglehawk has been given sixty days to appeal or move. N. Nicholas Editor Residents of Eaglehawk are celebrating the decision made by councillors last week to oppose the application for an equipment hire, sales facility to continue current operations at 128 Victoria Street, Eaglehawk. The council has received numerous objections to the site being used in it’s present form from both residents and the Bendigo
Ratepayers Assoc. Concerns raised included the use of residential roads by semitrailers, causing both congestion and noise, dust and the sheer visual impact of containers being stacked up to 3 high throughout the property. Residents must think our new councillors are a breath of fresh air as for over 18 months the COGB Planning Dept. had been aware of issues relating to both permits and planning on the site and failed to reach any decision.
