THE BENGAL’S PURR
Letters: Readers respond to death, Loggers
Dear Senior Editor After reading your Article "Death: A reflection on the Equalizer," I must say that I strongly agree with you. I myself have experienced a death and it does leave an empty silence in those that continue to live their lives. To those who have experienced the tragic loss of a loved one we all know that death is one of those things that has seven emotional levels to it and it affects the living the most. I believe that Death is a natural part of a human life span, but it’s also such an unfortunate, unexpected thing when a person is where no near their life span time of death. I also think that death is very dark, dreary, and at times not a natural part of life. Therefore I have to say that I think death is mostly a natural part of life. Ciera Peters, junior Nov. 25 issue corrections The Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers are not associated with Lewis-Clark State College. This was miscommunicated due to a Purr error. The article “Juggling Club Tosses Fun” was written by Jonika Ringling. It was mistakenly attributed to Sabrina Rutherford. The column “Define One’s Self with Passion for Life, Not Grades” was cut off at the end of the article due to a Purr design error.

Dear Editor The November edition of The Bengal’s Purr includes an article about the Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers football team. In the story, there was a reference that implied that the team was somehow associated with Lewis-Clark State College, stating that in May of 2013, “LCSC football coaching staff started recruiting players for the Loggers.” There is no football coaching staff at LCSC because there is no football program at LCSC. While it is true that LCSC students are on the Loggers’ roster, it is also true that there is absolutely no affiliation between the college and the team. This was made clear by LCSC President Tony Fernández, as well as Loggers Team Director Bob Thorson, when the team was being organized. LCSC congratulates the Loggers on their accomplishments this year and wishes them continued success. But it is important that Bengal’s Purr readers are made aware of the fact that Lewis-Clark State College has no football team, no football coaching staff, and no relationship with the Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers. Sincerely, Greg Meyer, Director of College Communications, LCSC

When is the right time to start listening to Christmas music? “Whenever the person in charge of playing it decides to start playing it.” --Ethan Cooper, senior
“I honestly think the best time to play Christmas music is right after Thanksgiving, a couple days after Thanksgiving, to get into the winter spirit.” --Ciera Peters, junior
“Never. Actually I think a couple days before Christmas.” --Talina Bierman, junior
Real or fake Christmas trees?
“If Christmas music was so good, they would play it all year around. But it isn’t. And they don’t play it all year around, and therefore it’s not that good and shouldn’t be played.” --Anonymous

It’s the season to be thankful here at LHS. The Bengal’s Purr thanks you for a newsworthy 2014 school year. We thank you for your cooperation, your school spirit and most importantly for reading our issues! We strive to cover all LHS and student events to ensure a historical record for generations to come, and for our alumni to be proud of what the school continues to represent. We thank you for your media support on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Our goal for 2015 is to continue to deliver important and eye-catching articles to you, and to present colorful and breathtaking photos that capture memories. We do all of it for you. Thank you. We loved your input this year and hope to give you our absolute best throughout the next year. Here’s to LHS! It is an honor to serve you. -- Senior Editors McKenna Anderson, Angelyn Cox, Tilsen Mulalley and Adviser Charity Egland
