Welcome to the Summer edition of our Quarterly Business Magazine

With the announcement that a General Election will take place on 4th July 2024, I have been working closely with colleagues at the British Chambers of Commerce with the launch of their Election Manifesto: Future of the Economy.

The Manifesto focuses on five key areas:

• An Industrial Strategy with green innovation at its heart.

• Better skills planning, bringing businesses and training providers together.

• Business rates reform to encourage growth and investment.

• Improved relations with the European Union to cut costs for business.

• A Government appointed AI champion for SMEs to spearhead uptake of new technology.

You can read more about the Election Manifesto on pages 40 - 41 of this magazine and, as always, we continue to be the voice of our members so please get in touch if there is anything we can support on.

We have had another busy few months of events with our recent North Wales Dinner being a highlight. We had a brilliant night in The Quay Hotel & Spa in Deganwy and we even saw the Northern Lights! A huge thank you to our sponsor for the event, Sales Geek North Wales.

We also held our Annual Golf Day at Macdonald Portal Hotel Golf & Spa which saw over 60 players enjoy a great day of networking whilst competing on the 18hole championship course. You can read more about these events on pages 6-7. There is also some excitement building as we are set to launch our Annual Recognition Awards on Monday 1st July! This is your opportunity to nominate your organisation for 10 different categories with finalists announced and winners revealed at our Annual Ball & Recognition Awards in November. I strongly encourage you to view the award categories on page 6 and look out for the invitation to nominate when it lands in your inbox in July!
