YOUNG CHAMBER

Career Fair supported by Young Chamber programme

Sponsors of the Young Chamber programme recently helped to provide advice and support to over 1000 students at Christleton High School during the school’s annual Career Fair for students of all ages.

Each sponsor had their own stall which allowed students to gain useful information and ask inquisitive questions about different industries, including skills requirements, career prospects, further education and potential apprenticeship opportunities.

Lynsay Lawson, Careers Co-Ordinator at Christleton High, commented:

“We can’t thank the Young Chamber Programme enough for supporting us with this event. The speakers they sent were engaging and inspiring for the pupils, sharing their own career journeys as well as information about their current employer”

West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce Events & Young Chamber Manager, Jenny Davidson, added:

“I’d like to give a huge thank you to all the Young Chamber sponsors who helped to support this event, seeing the pupils engaged, intrigued and excited by different companies and career options is something that the Young Chamber Programme strives to do so it was really rewarding to see this in action throughout the day!”

Welcome to our new Young Chamber Sponsors Young Chamber was established to tackle the skills gap that businesses were reporting and to help pupils, at schools and colleges from across the region, develop the necessary skills to hit the ground running when they leave education.

It does this through the running of events at schools and colleges that are part of the programme. These include career talks, interview days and workshops, all designed to give students an insight into the world of work and to help them as they start their careers.

If you are not a sponsor of the programme but you want to help the programme to continue to support students across our region, please email youngchamber@wcnwchamber.org.uk for more information.
