WCNW: To begin, tell us a little about yourself and your background.

Over the past 11 years, I’ve been privileged to be part of the Porcelanosa family. My journey began as a representative of one of Porcelanosa’s brands, and I subsequently assumed the role of manager for Porcelanosa Scotland. This experience laid a strong foundation for my transition to overseeing operations in Porcelanosa Northwest and Yorkshire from our headquarters in Warrington.

Throughout my time with Porcelanosa, I’ve encountered countless opportunities for professional growth and development. Each role has presented unique challenges and rewards, contributing to my overall journey and the success of the company.

WCNW: What attracted you to the company?

What initially attracted me to Porcelanosa was its reputation for excellence in the tile, kitchen, and bathroom industry. Founded in 1973, Porcelanosa has established itself as a leader in the industry, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and design excellence.

As I delved deeper into researching the company, I was impressed by its global presence, diverse product portfolio, and dedication to customer satisfaction.

I saw Porcelanosa as a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that offered tremendous opportunities for growth and career advancement.

Overall, it was Porcelanosa’s strong values, reputation for excellence, and commitment to innovation that drew me to the company, and I’m grateful for the chance to be part of such a reputable and esteemed organization.

WCNW: What are your main responsibilities?

As the General Manager of Porcelanosa, my main responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of our company’s operations, strategic planning, business development initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization.

WCNW: What does a typical day involve?

A typical day for me at Porcelanosa involves a dynamic mix of team collaboration, decision-making, customer engagement, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to drive our company forward.

WCNW: Who is your target audience and what is the main aim of the organisation?

Porcelanosa’s target audience includes developers, architects, interior designers, contractors, and homeowners seeking high-quality tile, kitchen, and bathroom products. The main aim of the organization is to provide innovative and elegant solutions for interior design projects while maintaining a commitment to quality and excellence.

WCNW: What projects are you currently working on?

I’m excited to share that Porcelanosa is expanding into Chester! Our grand opening event is scheduled for the 4th of July. The new store will showcase over 40 displays of bathrooms and kitchens, complete with a dedicated specification area for professionals such as architects and designers. Additionally, we will offer a builder range of products tailored for specifying multi-unit projects, including tiles, sanitaryware, and kitchens. Save the date and get ready for an unforgettable launch!

WCNW: How have things gone so far?

Despite the economic challenges facing the UK economy since 2022, Porcelanosa has demonstrated resilience and adaptability. We have successfully continued to serve a diverse clientele across a range of projects, including commercial, residential, and bespoke house projects. Our provision of tiles, bathrooms, kitchens, and facades has contributed to the success of numerous ventures. Through our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation, we have navigated these economic fluctuations successfully, ensuring continued growth and success for Porcelanosa.

WCNW: Did you ever think ‘I’ve taken on too big a risk’? If so, how did you overcome it?

Yes, there have been moments when we questioned whether we had taken on too big a risk. However, our company overcame these doubts through careful analysis, strategic planning, and proactive measures. We mitigated risks by diversifying our product offerings, expanding into new markets, and implementing cost-saving measures.

WCNW: Looking ahead, what are your main aims for the organisation and how would you like it to develop?

Looking ahead, our main aims for Porcelanosa include expanding our presence in Cheshire and North Wales to bring more options for local residents to improve their homes.

We aim to become the go-to destination for high-quality tile, bathroom and kitchens in these areas. Our goal is to not only provide top-notch products but also offer exceptional customer service and expert guidance to help homeowners transform their spaces.

Additionally, we aspire to strengthen our partnerships with local developers, builders, architects, and designers to collaboratively enhance the quality and aesthetics of residential and commercial projects in the area. By fostering these relationships and staying attuned to the evolving needs of our customers, we aim to become an integral part of the community and a trusted source of home improvement solutions.

WCNW: How have businesses and individuals responded to what you’re offering?

We’ve received favourable feedback from our customers, who appreciate the breadth of our product range, personalized service, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
