CHEADLE TANNING STUDIO (2016 - 2017)
Shortly after graduating with a first class honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, my mother was in the process of buying a nail and tanning studio. She asked me to rebrand the shop to give it a more relaxed and casual feel as well as looking professional and clean feel to her new business.

STAR CUTOUTS (2017)
My first full-time role was at Star Cutouts, a company that makes cardboard cutouts, wall arts and stand-in displays using licenced characters from the likes of Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, Warner Bros, BBC etc. The role was as a Design & Development Assistant, I helped design and produce products from standard cutouts, celebrity cutouts, standins, wall arts, masks and the various packaging. As well as designing, I helped test all of the products we produced out on the factory floor to make sure they were production ready. Here are a select few of the products I designed and developed myself:
Winnie the Pooh Child Sized Stand-in
Dua Lipa
Taron Egerton Taylor Swift Noel Gallagher Alice in Wonderland Stand-in

NOOK & CRANNY (2017)
This contemporary gift and home decoration store that has been open since 2015 in Moldgreen, Huddersfield. Recently however, the owner has decided to move the business online instead, so I was contacted to do some product photography of all the various products that she sells.
WEDDING/EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY (2016)
On New Year’s Eve of 2016, I was asked if I could be the photographer for a wedding, and I was honoured to do so. From taking natural looking portaits, to close ups of the wedding cake and the car, I did not stop taking photos for the entire event.
GAMERLIFE (2012 - 2013)
GamerLife is a gaming social media company inspired other companies such as Rooster Teeth and Screw Attack. During my Art Foundation diploma I was asked to join the team to brand the entire company, create any promotional material as well as illustrating weekly comic strips of humorous events that go around the office.
RISING MYTH: HANNYA’S DEMISE (FINAL YEAR)
The last project that I worked on whilst studying at the University of Huddersfield, and we could create our own briefs as long as it was based on the theme of “faith”. Rising Myth: Hannya’s Demise is a 2D side-scrolling “beat ‘em up” action game that’s based in Japan. Where a group of five friends are travelling around Japan when one of the friends gets consumed by the Hannya Mask. I created all the character and weapon designs, poster artwork, videogame cases, a collector’s edition box as well as amiibo figures.

SHUTTERSTOCK - VISUALISE EVERYDAY EPICS (FINAL YEAR)
One of the live briefs that has offered to students in the D&AD New Blood Awards competition, Shutterstock provided a brief about storytelling. We were asked to pick three of the seven basic story plots (Comedy, Rebirth, Rags to Riches, Tragedy, The Quest, Overcoming the Monster, Voyage and Return) and tell a story using only one image per story plot. My theme for this brief was shadow manipulation, where the figure is doing one action/ pose, whilst his/her shadow is doing a completely different action/pose.

Rags to Riches

REBRAND HUDDERSFIELD - GAMERS TAVERN (SECOND YEAR)
The most enjoyable brief I was given in my second year of Huddersfield University, I was asked to find a local business within Huddersfield and rebrand that business, where we found a little place where you could pay to play a variety of games consoles, large tables for card/board games, as well as various drinks/snacks and collectables scattered around the shop. The name “Gamers Tavern” implies that it also sells food and drink so I rebranded this business to become a gaming themed café. What you see here are the menus for the newly rebranded “Gamers Tavern”, all of which are exactly the same menu, but with a different colour pallette to coinside with the variety of different covers which had iconic videogame characters having coffee together. Who would have thought Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog would be having coffee together?
POKÉMON COMIC BOOK - ART FOUNDATION
By far my greatest achievement during my Art Foundation was my final major project,“Ben Henderson VS The Champion”, a Pokémon comic book which I wrote, panelled and illustrated myself. At the time this project was by far the most demanding and ambitious project that I have ever done. I only had two and a half months to plan, write and illustrate a 36 page comic book!
PHOTOGRAPHY (VARIOUS) - A-LEVELS
Alongside studying graphic design during my two years of A-levels at Xaverian College I finally had the opportunity to study photography and expand my photographic skills. Throughout my two years studying there, I specialised in portraiture photography, taking inspiration from photographers such as Rankin and Rob/Nick Carter.
