My Background

I am an architectural and interior designer with experience in both areas throughout Japan who approaches design from three points of perspectives: design, business strategy, and branding.

Benigna Katharina Iwasaki, dipl.Ing Architect and Designer

With a background in architecture, I began my professional design career at Ulm Kenchiku Keikaku Kenkyujou in Osaka, Japan. During the seven years at different design firms, I designed work places, hospitality spaces, public spaces and master planning both domestically and internationally. Deeply interested in materials and colors, as well as creating interiors and design that are harmonious to architecture and site, I pursue design that not only functions well and has pleasing aesthetics, but also addresses broader purpose of space based on business strategy and branding, which in turn shall take positive effect on the minds of people in each space. Teamwork and open communication with all those involved is, I believe, the key to successful projects. I thrive on the process of creating excellent spaces, products and events by collaborating with clients and team members on all levels. I also look forward to contributing to environmental issues, business strategies and social goals by creating commercial interiors, architecture and design that enrich people’s daily life.
