Leaves on parade
Sweet leaves, marching through the streets, with a smell of French perfume, at the rhythm of the drums, and a colorful parade. That’s more or less the environment in the gatherings around the world claiming for the right to self-cultivate the demonized bush known as Marijuana. The assistants to this kind of events are not just requesting for their right to self-cultivate cannabis, but they also want it to be recognized for its different uses such as medical, gastronomic or even in cosmetics… and of course, its recreational use without being punished for it. An example of this occurs in Chile, where annually there’s a march called “Cultiva tus derechos”, where thousands of people meet to show their support to this cause, lots of families with their children, young and old people walking through the streets of Santiago following the music’s rhythm and clamoring for the decriminalization of the plant. Another example of people manifesting for the right to self-cultivate took place in Philadelphia, U.S.A. Where many people marched in a parade baptized the “Jaywalk”. The attendees carried with them two enormous joints” demanding the presidential candidate Hillary Clinton the full legalization of the magical and mighty bush.
