Landscape Design:
a garden that
OPENS ITS WINGS TO THE SEA
Project: A garden that opens its wings to the sea Landscape Design & Execution
This landscaping project is undoubtedly one of the ones that I have enjoyed the most on a creative level. When Mr. Juan told me about working on the design of his garden, I knew that I was facing a great and interesting project, because not only it should look good but also due to the climatic conditions of the place it should be a sustainable design over time and that it withstands the strong levels of salinity, sun and wind of the place.
Date: August 2019
CONCEPT Within any architectural project, the sensory part is very important, where the senses, emotions, and sensations are revealed. When discussing the project with the owner, the first thing he told me was “I want there to be paths”, which was something very personal as it reminded him of his walks through the garden during his childhood.
The roads were the main axes to trace the design. For the shape I was inspired by the organic, seen in an aerial way it refers to a butterfly or a clover.
CREATIVE PROCESS After tracing the path, I created spots of color, symbolizing the landscape color palette that I wanted to see on the ground.
Once the color palette was determined, a table of plants was drawn up that would adjust to those tones and that at the same time are tolerant to high levels of salinity.

THE PROJECT During the design and construction of this project, the existing vegetation was fully respected. Each villa has 50 square meters, it is composed of the following areas: dining room, kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. The project consists in 7 villas. To take advantage of the space they were placed in rows.
To make the wind flow more efficient inside the villas, they were placed with a three-meter offset, which allows air to enter. Also it has an elevation with respect to the ground, this allows aeration from the bottom.

MASTER’S DEGREE PROJECT BIOCLIMATIC VILLAS
Date: June 2017
Introduction This project is based in bioclimatic villas for the develop of natural tourism, creating in this way a space of connection with nature. The development of natural and sustainable tourism is an important aspect to deal with in touristic areas. It is a way to make a positive impact on people and reduce the environment impact. The architecture must be worked conscientiously, using design methods that reduce the environment impact at the same time increasing the efficiency of buildings using in favor the conditions from by the environment.
The topography of the landscape is a determining element. In addition to the conception of the design, also the constructive methods, both are based on sustainability, the main objective is the implementation of materials and resources from renewable sources.
For this project we analyze the solar chart in the different seasons to make the most of the sun and its incidence. This was vital to the location of the solar panels, at the same time the design of the house.

Motivation
ti
The coastline of the bay with crystal clear waters must be restored and enhanced. An intervention is necessary that generates a development that improves the conditions for the users of Sosúa Beach, that enhances its positive aspects, taking into account the historical values it has and that reflects its cultural identity. Architecture is a way to educate and teach citizens to respect the natural environment that surrounds us.
Date: September 2014
The concept of the project reflects a DNA chain that represents the mixed history, symbolizing the mixture between the Jewish people, (the founders of Sosua) and the native Dominicans. The project is developed in all the edge of the Sosúa bay. The architectural design of the promenade contemplates several areas:
Tropical Restaurants
Port
Bathrooms, Dressing rooms
O ces
Picnic Area
Bicycle station
Car and bus parking area

CULTURAL CENTER
CONCEPT The Culture is the result of the constant movement of ideas, conceptions of life and artistic expressions of humans beings, which flows from our inner self. The project purpose is to rescue the sensitive part of humans and make a sensorial communication between the building and the user. The integration of green areas enables seamless communication between nature and human, it awakens the senses. The water is implemented as an element of relaxation in the project. The Organic figure refers to musical treble clef.
Also the shape of the building invites the user to enter.
