Guide to portion sizes

Main courses and desserts are served in a standardized size, designed to ensure the menu delivers balanced nutrition. A smaller portion can be selected if required. Potatoes, rice and vegetables are always available in small, standard or large (double portion) sizes.

Small or poor appetite

If you have a small or poor appetite and your body requires extra energy and protein then select the energy dense choices. Consuming extra energy and protein could help your body recover more quickly from being unwell and help improve your strength and energy levels. This could also help reduce the amount of time you spend in hospital and get you home quicker.
