POWERFRAME CARRYING SYSTEM â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Unparalleled support for transporting enormous loads of more than 25 kg The PowerFrame is the perfect system for hunting expeditions and wilderness exploration that require carrying the biggest, bulkiest, and heaviest loads with ease. With its elastomeric shock absorbers distributing the load, the backpack frame has good stability and support. It has elastomeric shock absorbers that distribute the load and a three-layer harness system keeps it all comfortable. The PowerFrame is big, burly, and practical, but when distances are long and loads tip the scales, no other carrying system compares. 1.

Tunnel Tent The tunnel tent is the most common design used in Norway. It is simple, functional, has generous baggage space and is often lightweight in relation to its size. Most often it comprises 2 to 3 poles that bend together to form a tunnel. This is a very simple design that offers generous space and potential for low weight. Given its good ventilation and storm flaps, it can work well as a year-round tent.

Dome Tent The dome tent has a more robust design, with poles that cross each other diagonally. Most commonly there are 2 to 4 poles which provide a number of crossing points and higher stability. This design is frequently chosen for extreme conditions, e.g. in the Polar Regions or in the mountains. The advantage is that once the poles are assembled, the tent is firm and tight. All you need then is to anchor it to the ground firmly enough so that it doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t blow away.

Lavvo/WigloÂŽ Bergans produces one-pole Lavvos which are much lighter than traditional Lavvos. They are best suited to hiking and short-term use. They provide good ventilation and have a small straight wall going along the bottom allowing you to utilize the tent's whole floor area. We have additionally developed the Lavvo's characteristics and added 3 poles stretching the sides outwards. This provides more space and enables you to roll up the outer tent on all three sides for panoramic views.

Details & Functions

Large ventilation openings at both ends ensure good ventilation. The openings are equipped with both mosquito nets and zippers to keep the elements out.

Molded pole cups for simpler installation of the poles. The channels are equipped with adjustment straps for adjustment of the buckle.

The inner tent in all 2-layer tents is stably fastened to the outer tent using buttons.

All tents have a full half moon opening out to the vestibule, with full width mosquito netting to maximize ventilation.

The poles and channels are color-coded, which makes the tent quick to set up. (Fjellbu has two identical poles and is therefore not color-coded.)

Living in a Lavvo is a social experience. There is plenty of space and headroom for changing clothes, cooking, or just lying about. Choose the right sleeping bag A good night’s sleep is vital, in particular when you are on a trip. Body and mind both need rest in order to function at their best the next day. This is a matter of comfort, but getting damp and cold may also be a direct cause of health problems. The right sleeping bag is perhaps the most important item in your luggage. You can always find food and shelter at the right price, but a sleeping bag protects you while you are sleeping.

Winter This is a sleeping bag intended for outdoor use during the winter. All winter bags have a heat retention collar that prevents cold air from getting into the bag. The warmest option we have is a combination of Senja Ice and Senja Snow which provides a comfortable temperature even at -36°C. This is a sleeping bag which is more suited to expeditions.

3 Seasons These are more all-round sleeping bags. If you open up the zip for ventilation, it can be used in the summer. It will also keep you warm in the spring and autumn provided the temperature doesn’t drop too far below zero. If you freeze easily, it might be a better option to buy a 3-season sleeping bag rather than a summer sleeping bag. 3-season sleeping bags are also fitted with a heat retention collar.

Make sure you’re wide awake when you choose your sleeping bag and you’ll sleep better!

Summer sleeping bags are suitable for use only at temperatures above zero. They are excellent for camping, backpacking trips, and sleeping indoors. They are lightweight, have a small pack volume, and are easy to pack into your backpack. Like all other sleeping bags for adults, summer sleeping bags have interior pockets with space for tickets, passports, etc.

ALLY – For expeditions large and small Paddling allows you to experience nature in new ways, gliding gently through the landscape. Paddling can be a wonderful way to find peace of mind. Some canoeists also seek thrills by throwing themselves down rivers and rapids. This is one way to truly feel the enormous force of the water against your body. Adrenaline rises to high levels when you are low in the foaming water at the mercy of nature’s whims. That’s when you have to rely on your own skills and hope that your canoe holds out. Your canoe is inevitably going to get a good workout and will hit a few stones with great force. The flexible design of our Ally canoe absorbs knocks and force of impact. It doesn’t sink. And if it is damaged, it can easily be repaired in situ. The sturdy PVC skin is both stitched and welded and contains extra reinforcement in the base. The frame is made from salt water-resistant aluminium, and the poles can be slotted together and unfolded like tent poles. An Ally canoe can easily be packed in a backpack and carried on your back. You don’t need to tie it down to your roof rack; instead it fits in your boot. You can even take it on a flight like normal luggage. SELECTING YOUR ALLY CANOE In order to find a good canoe, it is important that the choice is based on the individual user’s needs and skills. Before you purchase a canoe, you ought to assess where and under which conditions it will be used. Ally Canoes are divided into two categories:

ALLROUND

All-round canoes have a slightly curved keel line and a tall, curved bow and stern. They offer great stability and loading capacity, and are ideal for trips and expeditions. They are easy to manoeuvre in rivers and rapids, but are just as good for flatwater paddling. Available in green.

Ally 15´ DR This is the “classical” ALLY canoe, easy to maneuver and with high stability. The keel-line is slightly arched which makes the canoe easy to maneuver under all conditions, especially when paddling white water with technical difficulties. The canoe is made for 1-2 persons with gear, at the utmost 3 persons without gear. Large volume and high carrying capacity makes it suitable also as a family canoe. ALLY 15’ DR is splendid for fishing and its low weight makes it perfect on trips with portage. A typical all-round canoe for those who paddle under changing conditions on flat water and in rivers.

This new creation should be the first choice for families who like to paddle on trips in all conditions. It is easily paddled, steady and has surprisingly good directional stability, which in the first instance is due to a long, straight keel line. The stems are drawn a little longer down and are narrower than on the other all round models, which means that the canoe cuts through waves and glides exceptionally well on the water.

The canoe for those who need large carry capacity combined with high stability on flat waters and in rivers. For years the 16.5’ DR has been the no. 1 choice of expeditions all over the world. The canoe is suitable for 2-3 persons with gear, or 2 adults and 2 children. ALLY 16.5´ DR has the same shape as 15’ DR but a longer, less rockered keel line, which increases directional stability.

This big canoe has the same shape as 15´ DR and 16.5´ DR. With a length of 18 feet, this canoe has a wide and long, flat bottom and tumblehome shape. This makes it exceptionally stable, highly buoyant at the bow and it features a very high load capacity.

Ally 16´ DR has plenty of room for two paddlers with large packs, or a family with one or two children sitting in the middle and baggage distributed between the stems. It is best suited on flat water or on an easy river without high waves or technical challenges. It is first and foremost a steady, incredibly easily paddled and directionally stable canoe, which is something tour and family paddlers will greatly appreciate.

This canoe has been paddled in heavy white water and on rivers with great technical difficulties with splendid success - making it the optimal choice under all conditions.

Flatwater canoes are designed for speed and directional stability. They have a straight keel and the bow and stern are straight, pointed and low. They cut through the water without any noticeable deviation caused by crosswinds. These canoes are significantly narrower than the all-round canoes. This is a splendid canoe for two persons with baggage on week-end to week long trips, or for families with two adults and one child.

ALLY 17’ is high performances fast canoe that very well matches up to the fastest fibreglass or kevlar canoes. The tumblehome bottom profile and straight keel line makes it tracks straighter in the waves providing excellent side stability. The low profile and the straight bow and stern make it difficult for the wind to get hold of the canoe. The result is superior directional stability under severe conditions.

This canoe is made for those who need very high load capacity for 3 or 4 persons with baggage. ALLY 18.5’ has a good initial and final stability making you feel safe from the beginning. Due to the optimal speed/ stability ratio, it tracks faster in the water.

The canoe is relatively short and has a low profile, making it harder for wind to get hold. The design and size makes it an excellent solo-canoe on lakes and quiet rivers. WHAT IS DERMIZAX™? Dermizax™ is a waterproof, windproof, and wicking membrane that is specially developed to provide protection against all kinds of weather while remaining as comfortable as possible. Dermizax™ membrane is a hydrophilic material that utilizes moving molecules, as opposed to most other membranes which have micropores. This offers a number of advantages and makes Dermizax™ shell clothing the very best on the market thanks to its high performance and superior durability.

NO PORES – MANY ADVANTAGES MORE THAN 200% ELASTICITY! The Dermizax™ membrane is extremely flexible. It has an elasticity of more than 200%. In practice, this means that the membrane can be stretched up to twice its own length in four directions. This ensures that Dermizax™ garments are very comfortable to move in, while reducing the risk of delamination during extreme activities.

TOTALLY WATERPROOF. The water column, i.e., the value of waterproofness, is min. 20,000 millimeters for Dermizax™ materials.

REGULATES TEMPERATURE. The moving polymer molecules also move faster at high temperatures or a high activity level. This means that breathability improves when you get hot and sweaty. When it is cold and you wish to retain excess heat, the polymer molecules slow down and the heat loss is reduced to a minimum.

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT. The Dermizax™ membrane is continuously developed, which means that we are able to offer new and improved products each year.

DURABLE FUNCTION. The Dermizax™ membrane does not have micropores that can be obstructed by dirt, or by salt crystals from salt water. It also prevents water from sticking to the pores and expanding when the temperature drops below freezing point. Dermizax™ retains its unique functions even when dirty and after many years of use. EASY MAINTENANCE. The high quality of the membrane endures even after innumerable washes with regular washing powder. In contrast, the quality of materials made from micropores deteriorate after each wash as the ceramic particles of regular washing powder clog the pores.

HIGH WICKING ABILITY. Breathability is up to 30,000 g/m2/24h for 3-layer Dermizax™ and up to 40,000 g/m2/24h for 2-layer Dermizax™.

NO IMPREGNATION NEEDED. There is basically no need to impregnate Dermizax™ garments. The garments will retain their waterproofness even after long-term wear and tear and innumerable washes in a washing machine. However, it may be beneficial to reimpregnate the outer fabric to ensure that the garment surface repels water more quickly and that it maintains its good breathability. If you wish to do so, we recommend using impregnation intended for breathable synthetic materials. The Dermizax™ membrane will nevertheless remain waterproof and breathable as it is well protected on the inside of the outer material.

3-LAYER / 2 ½-LAYER / 2-LAYER DERMIZAX™ Waterproof shell clothing is often divided into three different groups according to quality. What they all have in common is that the membrane is laminated onto the outer fabric. 3-LAYER DERMIZAX™: Consists of three layers that have been laminated together to make one fabric. The outer layer is made from water-repellent microfiber. The Dermizax™ membrane in the middle ensures that the garment is waterproof and wicking. The inner layer, closest to the body, consists of mesh lining that protects the membrane and provides extra durability.

SHELL GARMENTS FIELDSENSOR™ Fieldsensor™ is a unique «several layer» netting lining. The inside of the lining quickly absorbs moisture which is transported to the outside of the lining. From there the moisture is spread over a large evaporation surface. The lining dries quicker and feels drier and more pleasant than ordinary lining qualities.

2 ½-LAYER DERMIZAX™: An extremely lightweight Dermizax™ fabric. Garments made from this material are principally characterized by being very lightweight and offering minimal packing volume, as well as being windproof and waterproof. The lining is replaced by surface treatment on the inside of the membrane. The superior durability of our other Dermizax™ fabrics is not achieved, but superlight shell clothing is not intended for daily use.

BERGANS ELEMENT® ACTIVE Bergans Element® Active is a waterproof, windproof and moisture transporting fabric of high quality. The fabric has a water column of minimum 10.000 mm and have minimum 10.000 g/m²/24h breathability. Clothing made of Bergans Element® Active is designed to accommodate moderate to higher levels of activity in tough weather conditions.

2-LAYER DERMIZAX™: Consists of two layers that have been laminated together to make one fabric – an outer fabric in microfibre and the Dermizax™ membrane. It also has loose mesh lining next to the body. This lining wicks moisture away from the body, protecting the membrane and retaining body heat. Since garments made from 2-layer Dermizax™ have a loose lining made from wicking Fieldsensor™ material, they often feel warmer than 3-layer Dermizax™.

TECHNICAL WOOL TECNOWOOL® With the development of Tecnowool® one has been successful in merging traditional organic wool with present-day modern textile materials. This has resulted in a material which strengthens the wool’s capability to warm up at the same time as it keeps its classic appearance.

DERMIZAX™ NX Every now and then a quantum leap occurs in development, and a brand new generation of Dermizax™ is created. We are therefore proud to take the technology one step further than competing products by offering the very best in shell clothing: DERMIZAX™NX. Provides maximum protection during particularly demanding activities and weather conditions. The wicking ability is twice as high as for traditional membranes (30,000-50,000 g/m2/24h for 2-layer Dermizax™. Despite this, Dermizax™NX membrane maintains the same high waterproofness that Dermizax™ is renowned for (minimum 20,000 millimeters). This is the ultimate fabric for those who want a waterproof garment with the best breathability on the market as well as extremely good freedom of movement that is ideal for active use. TOTALLY WATERPROOF. The water column, i.e., the value of waterproofness, is min. 20,000 millimeters for Dermizax™ materials.
