FACES in SPACES
Is Street Photography Legal in Germany?
Short answer – Yes! In a recent ruling the German supreme court recognized street photography as an art form. And creating art is a personal right that is protected by the constitution. However, you should try your best to avoid anything that could be deemed an invasion of privacy or intimacy and showing people in an undignified or helpless manner.

Ask permission before you invade someone’s privacy; Look around you – the faster your shutter the better! Be courageous and experimental with your angle.
DON’T
Take it personally if people don’t want their photo taken; Use a manual focus; Use flashy gear.
