Yacht Brokerage
We are delighted to present to you the very first edition of our Charter Companion, new for 2021. The title was chosen to reflect our relationship with you, the client, throughout the charter process – a companion to accompany you through every step, from the initial contact through to the charter itself and beyond.
L
ooking back on 2020, it comes as no surprise for us to say that it wasn’t the easiest year for the Charter Industry. We had many charters cancelled or rescheduled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, but in the end came out with a return only slightly smaller than in 2019. Looking ahead for 2021, a yacht charter appears to be one of the safest options for planning a holiday in the current climate, and with several reservations already booked, we are optimistically thinking that the summer 2021 season is set to go ahead as usual. Over the past year we have continued to consolidate our marketing strategy, with the launch of our new website, new publicity strategies, and the employment of an app to organize charters and have even closer contact with our clients. This year has also seen clients branching out towards new and exciting destinations, with us receiving more and more enquiries for Norway and Spitzbergen, for example. Of course, the French and Italian coasts remain as popular as ever.
In this catalogue we would like to present to you a selection of the most beautiful charter destinations, to be explored during a cruise onboard a luxury yacht with family, friends, or within your company. We have also chosen a selection of motor and sailing yachts which we recommend for the incredible quality of service offered onboard. Furthermore, having been specialists in regatta charters for numerous years, we also present in this catalogue the different types of sailing yachts available for the key regattas, as well as for the main events taking place in the south of France. Finally, we succinctly explain our Yacht Charter Management service, and present the entire BGYB team; experts in cruising and dedicated to bringing your yacht charter to life, with the goal of creating unforgettable memories carried out under the BGYB slogan: Yachting in Style with Peace of Mind.

Charter Guide
Find the perfect charter yacht for a unique experience. BGYB’s team offers its service to create a charter tailored to you in your dream destination. Our charter guide clearly lays out how we proceed, in three simple steps.
Step 1
Step 2
Creating the perfect charter
Planning your charter
with your Charter Broker
Who is the charter for?
Which activities to do?
Charters evidently come in all shapes and sizes. Whether it is personal or corporate, simply decide the number of guests you wish to have on board and how many cabins are required for your luxury accommodation and we will find a yacht with a suitable capacity.
If it is long trips on shore discovering new places, cruising around undiscovered islands and coves or diving deep below the water’s surface, the activities on board are truly up to you. Energetic or leisurely, each guest can enjoy the chosen activities that they desire.
Where and when to go?
On board preferences?
Decide on the time of year and the type of setting and we will match it to the best conditions and the best areas in that season.
Atmosphere on board is crucial, which is why everything is tailor-made for our clients. From entertainment and music to culinary choices, all aspects are catered for. As well as your dietary requests, the crew will ensure that your favorite foods and wines are on board and prepared exactly how you wish them to be. If restaurants are desired, then your reservations will be awaiting you ashore. Not forgetting how you shall reach your charter yacht, your transfer by air or road is dutifully considered also.
Motor or Sailing? Whichever your preference, there is a yacht that will guarantee your satisfaction, whether it is under sail or cruising with a motor.

It is true to say that certain things in life require careful consideration; chartering a yacht is one of those things. It merits considerable planning ahead so that every aspect of your charter is tuned to perfection. Whether it is yacht availability or destination popularity, certain factors must be considered in plenty of time to guarantee your satisfaction. It is advisable to book several months in advance. Once you have decided on the type of charter that you wish to experience, the BGYB charter team will put all their efforts into finding the right yacht and the right destination.

Step 3
Finalising your charter
New for this year!
As Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA) members, the BGYB charter team work under the following terms and conditions: The charter fee includes the charter of the yacht with its crew, fully equipped and fully insured. The Charterer will be charged for all supplementary expenses such as fuel, berthing costs and harbor charges, food & beverages and any other special services that you may request. In order to cover these costs we will require an advanced provisioning allowance (APA) which is 20% - 30% of the charter fee. This is given to the yacht captain prior to the charter to allow for provisioning of the yacht in preparation of the charter. At the end of the charter (and during if requested) the captain will produce full accounts of all expenditure. Upon disembarkation the charterer either will receive a refund of monies not spent or a request for payment if the APA was exceeded.
BGYB is now offering its charter clients a bespoke experience thanks to the mobile application Vamoos. As a charter client, all you have to do is connect to the app with the login and password we will provide you with, and you will have access to all the data related to your charter: the yacht’s brochure, preference sheet, contract, menus, crew profile, itinerary, and even flight tickets. You will have everything in one place ; no need to go through all your emails to find your charter documents. The application also provides a messaging system so you can contact your charter broker anytime.

One of the leading superyacht events in the Mediterranean
Maxi yachting is evolving
The regatta is open to superyachts with a minimum length of 90 feet, and to Wally, Southern Wind and multihull boats of over 50 feet. The event will also mark the 30th anniversary of the Southern Wind Trophy and Rendezvous.
In recent years ever more impressive and varied fleets have exemplified the evolution of yacht racing as the maxi craft continue to develop and push the boundaries of design and technological innovation. Organized in collaboration with the International Maxi Association and with the support of title-sponsor Rolex, the regatta regularly attracts upwards of 40 maxi yachts including the very best of international yachting. Competing divisions range from the 18 to 24-metre Mini Maxi class, which competes for its World Championship during the event, to the Supermaxi division which hosts yachts of 30.5 metres and above.
Developments in relation to the pandemic and related restrictions will be monitored constantly in order to adapt the schedule for the event accordingly, and to ensure maximum safety for participants. In order to support all those owners who are keen to get back to racing, the entry fee will be fully refunded in the event the regatta is cancelled due to the pandemic. www.bernard-gallay.com

Where Yachting Modernity and Tradition Meet
For the enjoyment of yacht owners and the benefit of the people of St Barths
The event is organized by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez approved by the Fédération Française de Voile, under the auspices of the city of Saint-Tropez and the patronage of the Yacht Club de France. The last edition brought an extended program allowing for a greater capacity of large yachts in the port as well as an extensive agenda from modern boats – Wallys, Maxis and super Maxis in IRCA, to classic boats – large Schooner class and Grand Traditions. The unique gathering of hundreds of yachts of all ages and all eras in the bay of Saint Tropez, is preparing to celebrate its 23rd year in style.
Each year, the Stewards of the St Barths Bucket stage their international sailing event for the enjoyment of yacht owners and for the benefit of the people of St Barths. The St Barths Bucket is proud of its annual contributions to worthy causes in St Barths. A portion of the yacht owner’s entry fee and all the proceeds from the sale of the popular Bucket posters go to charity.
Each year, the BGYB Team participate to this event, with some of our yachts for sale and/ or for charter. www.bernard-gallay.com
