By integrating land development and transport planning, TOD puts people and the environment at the centre of urban planning. This supplemental guide to the TOD Standard explores best practices in using the 8 core principles of TOD – walk, cycle, connect, transport, mix, densify, compact and shift – to measure the performance of cities and neighbourhoods, and nurture more healthy and vibrant urban environments.
