Fe st ival ge ar “Do they go together?” one or two of you will perhaps wonder when you see the embroidered blouse and the fringed jacket. The answer is yes – we’re convinced that the combination is an absolute winner!

6412 Jacket This simply cut garment will wow you with its lavish fringe – or even without, if you are not a fan of this fashion detail. Either way, you’ll always cut a dash in this jacket.

6413 Blouse Wing-needle embroidery as well as pintucks adorn this lightweight cotton blouse. The hemstitching on the sleeves – done with the Spanish hemstitch attachment – rounds out the look perfectly. You’ll find tips for working with a wing needle and the Spanish hemstitch attachment on page 18.

6414 Trousers Flares have made a comeback! These are in the style of men’s trousers – slanted hip-yoke pockets at the front and a welted pocket at the back. Read how to sew them on the Tips pages.

S mar t casual Different effects can be achieved with a top and shorts by e.g. choosing the same rather than different fabrics for both. The ensemble then looks like a hip jumpsuit. Fashionistas may even try their hand at using an understated print fabric – it’s your call!

6420 Top The patterned viscose crepe feels great against the skin. Long slits at the front and back are eye-catching, and make this model ultra-comfy to wear, even when you’re seated.

6421 Shorts Who says you can only wear shorts in the summer? The new, longer models are suitable for all seasons. We recommend running up a number of pairs in different colours! The waistline has been moved upwards to leave space for decorative belt loops. Together with the slanted hip yokes, this gives a slender look. Welted pockets on the back lend a sporty touch.

E thnic chic Exotic influences are given a modern interpretation, with fresh colours and clear-cut shapes creating a new look. Have a go at designing your own lampshade from recycled materials!

6445 Cushion and 6446 Embroidered cushion cover These cushions are ideal for leaning against the wall or scattering on a bench. The embroidered square runs through all the elements. 6447 Table runner The runner features motifs that are embroidered and painted with BERNINA DesignWorks. The design fits in the Jumbo Hoop. 6448 “Embroidery” lampshade The addition of a pretty little shade turns these PET bottles into a recycled design element; grouped together, the lamps are a real eye-catcher. Decovil lends sturdiness to the simple shape of the embroidered lampshade. 6449 “Ribbons” lampshade Six individual elements make up this little lampshade. Worked over the seams, the ribbons emphasise the distinct line of the shade. 6450 “Square” lampshade The square holes let more light shine out. The holes can be cut out in the conventional fashion, or with next to no effort using the BERNINA DesignWorks and the CutWork Tool. With BERNINA Embroidery Software and / or BERNINA DesignWorks, PaintWork or CutWork Tool.

E aste r Vibrant colours and a modern design lend these decorative objects appeal even outside of Easter time.

6435 “Rabbit” picture These abstract pictures of rabbits are embroidered. The embroidery module will make quick work of the pictures; alternatively, you’ll find the template for sewing on the pattern sheet. For this, you’re best using a long triple straightstitch. 6436 “Rabbit” pin These little rabbit pins can be sewn quickly and precisely with the paper-piecing technique. The Tips pages will tell you exactly how it’s done. 6437 Decorative egg Eggstraordinary! Eggs are a lovely Easter decoration – they can be showcased in a little basket, or hung in groups from a twig. The 6 pattern pieces are cut out from the large panel, also made using the paperpiecing technique. 6438 Basket Weaving baskets is a centuries-old tradition – nowadays, you can sew them with your BERNINA. Some cord or string, bias binding and the double-cord foot are all you need to turn out bowls, baskets or even placemats. Although the beginning is a bit fiddly, it soon practically takes care of itself. Give it a go – you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Bon voyage ! With our featherlight sponge bag, makeup bag and glasses case, you’ll be well kitted out for a few days’ rest and relaxation.

6440 Sponge bag Properly rolled up or hung open on a hook, this bag serves both as a travel companion and a toiletries organiser once you’ve reached your holiday destination. The coated cotton lining can take its share of punishment. The plain outer fabric is adorned with charming feathers that were embroidered, then custom-embellished with the BSR and metallic thread. 6441 Makeup bag Whether you use this little bag for storing makeup or jewellery is up to you. The dead-simple pattern will inspire you with confidence from the very start. 6442 Eyeglasses case Here too, a feather adorns the case. Pros can use Decovil to reinforce the case to make it sturdier. Less experienced sewers are better off using batting for the time being, provided that your specs aren’t particularly delicate! 6443 Feather The feather, which we’ve sewn to the tie on the case, was cut out with the CutWork Tool. Those who’d like a larger or smaller feather can edit the file accordingly in the BERNINA DesignWorks Software.
