Re-Introducing Mr Kyps Live Music Venue, with lots to look forward to in the new year.
“
So this is the new year... and I don’t feel any different.” And so decreed drear-pop shoegazers Death Cab For Cutie in their coming-of-age anthem of disaffection,
depicting those troubled times when the early capriciousness of youth gives way to the uncertainty and weary responsibility of maturity. What then, for the Mr Kyps song of choice, the battle crying rabble-rouser to call in the new era? Feelin Good by Nina Simone (‘It’s a new dawn it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me... and I’m feelin’

very time we book this show we do it with the same trepidation. There’s this knowledge that all good things must come to an end and
that the next show won’t be as good as the last one, or that the attendance is going to plummet because of the frequency of their shows, or that the general public’s interest in Queen will wane to the point that The Great Pretender just won’t represent a relevant spectacle in the music halls and gig venues up and down the country. And despite this, every time that’s 6 shows a year taking in a total of 188 people for the last five years - the show sells out and the atmosphere for the Queen fans in attendance is electric. f course, that opening paragraph could read as the mother of all jinxes, and yet it has been written at a time when we’re looking at another double-headed show being sold out well over a week in advance. Ticketing and General Information 1. Come to the venue in person. We are generally open for tickets 12-6pm Mon-Fri, through to 10pm on gig nights. Please come to the front door and ring the bell for entry - if no reply we will certainly be in the office at the back - use the black stage door for entry. 2. Get your tickets from our ticket outlets: As listed below, we have outlets in Poole Centre (The Music Room instrument and sheet music shop, Kinson (The Music Factory, stocking similar goods), Bournemouth Town Centre (Frolic Records, Dalkeith Arcade), or Boscombe’s Dorset Music Forum (next door to the Opera House) - You should be charged no more than £1 booking fee per ticket at any of these outlets. 5. Order online via Ticketweb. Ticketweb.co.uk provide secure, 24hr ticketing for all Mr Kyps shows. You can link to them from mrkyps.net, or alternatively you can go to them direct. Tickets to our larger shows, including shows at the O2, will be listed on SeeTickets.com, so it's always wor th checking there too. Please note that tickets left for collection on the door will not be available until the doors open on the night of the gig. 6. Show up on the night and pay on the door. This is generally more expensive than buying tickets in advance (usually £1-2 more), and we are finding more and more of our gigs selling out in advance so there is never any guarantee that you will be able to get in if you take this option.
