EXCLUSIVELY YOURS... When you drive down the sweeping driveway, to the picturesque and photogenic backdrop of Berwick Lodge, we’ll be here to welcome you all. Berwick Lodge will be all yours - all 18 wonderful acres of it. Your exclusive use wedding in our rural countryside venue guarantees complete privacy for you and your wedding guests for the duration of your celebration. Leaving you time to settle in and make our house your home for the occasion. Exclusive use is available from 12 on the day, through to 11am the following morning (23 hours of hire). Although extended celebrations are welcome here - just ask! Although Berwick is located in the peaceful countryside, it is also conveniently located just off the M4/M5 corridor and within 25 minutes of central Bristol - an ideal location, easily reached by travelling guests.

Exclusive use the night before your wedding takes the pressure off the morning of your special day. Invite your closest friends and family to join you for the evening and enjoy building the excitement, before having a relaxing morning of leisurely breakfast and getting ready together in our beautiful suites or dressing room. The beautifully maintained grounds are ideal on a sunny evening to entertain members of your party and our cosy lounge was made for enjoying a late-night drink in a relaxed and homely atmosphere. STUNNING GROUNDS... Not just open green spaces, the enchanting grounds, overlooked by the magnificent hotel house, offer spectacular features with an abundance of beautiful surroundings.

An original 1920s Victorian stone walkway sits under a pergola entwined with wisteria and clematis, leading the way to Aphrodite’s Dome – a striking structure set on a beautifully tiled platform with an intricately designed dome roof and surrounded by marble ladies. The soothing fountain, original Victorian summerhouse, orchard, tree swing and views across to Wales, offer additional backdrops for romantic photographs, while the outdoor space hosts plenty of seating to relax in the surrounding beauty.

YOUR WEDDING, YOUR WAY

THE NUPTIALS...

Berwick is licensed to hold legal civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests in ‘Mesopotamia’ within our separate Mews building, or outside (in good weather!) within the stunning grounds. Mesopotamia is a wonderfully bright room with lots of natural daylight, views across the countryside and muted yet beautiful decor which can be easily styled to your taste.

The gardens offer peaceful, outdoor ceremonies with spectacular views across open fields and woodland - with three available locations: ‘Aphroditie’s Dome’, ‘The Archway’, or ‘The Fountain’. There is no additional fee to host your ceremony at Berwick and we include indoor and outdoor seating and decorations for use, as well as our help to play music and direct guests and bridal parties. A fee, however, will be payable to either the registrars to conduct the legal proceedings or to a celebrant if considering a non-legal but personalised ceremony.

RELAX IN STYLE

TAKE A LOOK INSIDE... The interior of our stunning Victorian building reflects historical British luxury and comfort, with a subtle Turkish twist. You’ll find original wood panelling, open fires and a sweeping staircase - and that’s just in the entrance hall! Stone pillar archways, crackling fireplaces, and the soft twinkle of crystal chandeliers create a truly enchanting atmosphere with a plethora of striking original features throughout.

Original wooden flooring creates a perfect dance floor, while the cosy lounge was made for enjoying a quieter moment perhaps a board game or two!? See if your guests notice Berwick Lodge on the Bristol Monopoly board...

The reception room is wonderfully bright and airy – floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the gardens and out towards the sparkling lights of Wales beyond. It flaunts characteristic features such as an old London bar, an original fireplace and an ornate pulpit to stand at for speeches.

ALL YOUR CREATURE COMFORTS

BOUTIQUE BEDROOMS...

Our bedrooms aren’t just places to rest your head, they are sanctuaries of comfort where you can unwind after a day filled with excitement. Invite your nearest and dearest to stay with you overnight, extending your celebrations late into the night and the following morning. Our stunning collection of 14 individually designed luxury bedrooms, all with en-suites and unique characteristics means there’s plenty of onsite accommodation. Check-in is from 3pm (although we have a priority list) and breakfast is included as standard too. There are 12 bedrooms in the main lodge (including one dog-friendly room) and a further two in our Mews building. Accommodating 27 guests although extra beds can increase our capacity. If needed, there are also plenty of additional hotels a very close car ride away. We do ask that 8 of our top-tier bedrooms be taken on the night of the wedding, included within this number, is a complimentary deluxe suite of your choice, with early 11:30am check-in. In addition, our dressing room, in the Mews, can be accessed in the morning from 7am.

CATERING WITH CARE

AMAZING FOOD... A memorable event is often defined by the food, and Berwick Lodge excels in this aspect. Food is at the core of what we do here and something we are extremely passionate about. Created by our amazing team of in-house chefs, who ordinarily run our two-rosette restaurant, delicious food will be served from our specially created wedding menus, using seasonal and local ingredients as much as possible. Alongside this, we offer both a reduced and extensive wine and drinks list and offer couples signature cocktails on the day no meal is complete without the perfect tipple! You’ll be invited to a complimentary menu and wine tasting closer to your wedding date, allowing you to make a decision on the menu you’ll choose to serve to all your guests. Any guests with special diets are just as lovingly catered for if known about in advance. Ordinarily, a set menu is offered, however, we are all about flexibility here and happy to discuss a choice menu, if preferred.

A FEW WORDS... “Perfect from start to finish. As all the other reviews say, where to start? From the initial viewing to the day of the wedding was almost exactly 3 months, so not a lot of time! Georgia was incredible, even to the point of arranging an emergency appointment with the registrar so we had enough time to give notice. The build-up was professional and organised but also relaxed given the timeframe, which put everyone at ease. The day itself was everything we could have asked for a lot more on top. Comments from many guests included “best wedding venue I have been to”, “incredible day and wedding” and “absolutely everything was on point”. I cannot imagine how anyone could be disappointed with having their wedding at Berwick Lodge. Thank you to all the staff, you were amazing.”

A SMALLER FOOTPRINT

SUSTAINABLE WEDDINGS... We’re committed to achieving the best environmental and social sustainability practice, for the benefit of all of our couples, Berwick family and the planet. It’s the small things we’re trying to change: using local ingredients; growing produce in our kitchen garden & flowers in our cutting garden; encouraging vegan choices; fighting food waste - ‘too good to go’; using organic pesticides; supporting our bee hives & Bristol’s biggest colony of house martins; our electric company car & electric car charging points on site; encouraging online planning; supporting staff mental health with ‘hospitality in action’; and supporting and purchasing through small, local and second-hand where possible. We’ve received our Silver Green Tourism Award and have been shortlisted two years in a row for the South West’s Bee Bold awards. We have also recently installed solar panels which produce renewable energy and help with Berwick’s wider carbon reduction and sustainability plan.

All of our quotes are personalised to you, however, we recognise that at this stage you’ll probably welcome an idea of pricing, to decide if Berwick Lodge fits your budget, before you go any further. This estimate is based on 50 guests for a Saturday wedding in Summer 2024. See pricing grid on the following page for alternative times and costs, as prices vary depending on the day and month. Catering prices are subject to annual review and rise and therefore will be increased for 2025.
