Why I Love Working at Rafferty Subaru

When you think of buying a new or pre-owned car, there are many places to look. They’re for sale everywhere these days. The problem is how do you know you’re getting a fair or good deal? This is where Rafferty Subaru of Newtown Square steps in.
Rafferty Subaru was founded in 1979 by Robert Rafferty, Sr. Their name is the gold standard for new and pre-owned vehicles in the greater Philadelphia area. In July of 2019, I was hired to be Rafferty Subaru’s Greeter and Sales Receptionist. When you walk into the showroom of this sleek modern building, it’s me who greets you and helps start our team’s mission: To meet or exceed your expectations for quality customer service.

I have been in the auto business for over 30 years, doing title work, being a receptionist, and finding leads for new car sales. There are clearly core principles here at Rafferty that we all uphold. It starts at the top, with the founder’s sons Bob and Kevin Rafferty, and also the founder’s grandson Bobby Rafferty. They hold us to the pledge that, “We ensure the love and respect is felt not only by our customers but by the whole community. Not because it is good for business but because it is the right thing to do.”

Rafferty Subaru, one of the leading Subaru dealers in the country, contributes to the community as a whole in many ways. When the Highland Park Kirklyn Civic Association was in need of help finding winter coats for students at local elementary schools, Rafferty Subaru stepped right up. They donated those needed coats, and also helped with a toy drive for families in need during the holiday season. The Rafferty Subaru family, managers and employees are always ready to help out their neighbors.

In the 7 months I’ve worked here, I’ve seen what a difference Rafferty Subaru makes, not only in their community but in their respect for customers. Customers continue to come back to Rafferty not only for new cars but for our great service center. Recently, a new grandmother stopped by, to check if her granddaughter’s car seat was placed correctly. A Service Technician helped place the car seat in the correct position, and one of the Rafferty Delivery Specialists went over the safety features of the vehicle again, to reassure her that her granddaughter would be safe.
The Rafferty Subaru team practices more than good business skills; they impact the community with respect. That’s why I love and am proud to be working at Rafferty Subaru.
