About Our Expert: Kevin O'Donnell

The roofing industry has changed drastically since O’Donnell Roofing Co. was founded in 1924, by current Owner Kevin O’Donnell’s great-grandfather. Three generations of roofing experts before Kevin prepared him well to assume leadership in 2012.

Kevin attributes his work ethic to having started at age 12 working with his roofing expert dad Lawrence. Early on, Kevin showed he was determined, entrepreneurial, and someone who loved to work at something he could call his own. After graduating from Haverford High School, he enrolled in a work-study program at a college in Vermont, and ran a deli while taking classes. After college, he stayed there for a few years until he felt the Marple Newtown area and his father’s business calling him to return.

With such a strong work ethic and a philosophy of “Show me once and I’ll do it,” Kevin quickly rose in the ranks and proved himself at every opportunity. In the past 10 years, he has focused on business growth, and the company has been servicing commercial clients since 2013.

Kevin O’Donnell now manages O’Donnell Roofing’s crew of 25, and he makes it a priority to treat every one of his workers in ways that build trusting and loyal relationships. O’Donnell Roofing’s new employees and professional growth under his management are results he’s deservedly proud of.

As O’Donnell Roofing Co. nears its 100th anniversary, Kevin O’Donnell proudly looks back on how four generations of his family combined ever-changing roofing products, innovative service and traditional local charm to create a business that still stands strong in the Marple Newtown community.
