Winter Festival Branding

Page 1

My logo design for Hugh Baird’s Winter Festival is based on Christmas tree lights, the flow of the text represents the wires and the thick ends to the W & F represent the LED lights. I have been seeing allot of white logo’s overlaid on blurred, bright, high quality photographs lately in design and I took inspiration for this when I created my logo as a whole including the ‘Hugh Baird’ ‘2014’ and the ‘Merry Christmas.’ I wanted to make it almost look like a Christmas present name tag sticker to go with the Christmas theme that’s why if you look closely the design is kind of oval shaped.

For the poster design I experimented with illustration and photography provided by marketing. I took constructive criticism from festival management as they liked the illustrated design’s layout but really liked how eye-catching the photography poster was but they thought it was a little to dark and the event was not taking place at night it was running through the day so I decided to brighten it up and add some colour from my Christmas colour palette. I kept the pine trees in the design as they were going to be a continuous aspect through the winter festival branding.

This is how the final poster looks printed I experimented with a variety of paper stocks and this one really made the poster stand out in quality and kept the colours looking bright and prominent.

This is the stationary set for the winter festival management team so they can hand people cards to advertise the event and send letters and compliment slips for people who have helped in the process.

Cups for guests to have hot beverages and gift tags for products being sold at the event.

Tote bags to be sold at the event Christmas tree’s are continuous through the festival branding.

Social media banners for twitter and facebook, they are basically just close ups of the L20 on the poster I created.

Visual aesthetics when the event is taking place to make the building look christmasy. I kept the window displays white to compliment the logo.
