In-store research to gain an understanding for the exisiting products, visual merchandising and overall aesthetic of the store. It is very in tune with the classic ideas of a vintage store with the use of natural wooden crates, neon lighting adding a retro feel and bright pops of colour around the space. The garments are displayed quite simply within the store on allocated rails and the crates in the window and mannequins are used to showcase some outfits, which is something to consider with our own window.
After experimenting with several different routes to take the brief we decided that the most effective outcome was to take a literal approach as opposed to taking it too abstract and straying from the drive in movie theme that would work so effectively with their consumer.

For the outcome of our window we decided to experiment with use of scale to create quite a fun, lighthearted window that had a romanticism to it in order to tie in with February Valentines Day ideas. This can be seen with the oversized bobbins, which would be used to display products in the shop window and the giant popcorn that frames the entire window and adds a more interesting dimension, preventing it from becoming too flat. We wanted to keep the retro element of the car very in tune with the typical drive-in movie, however we played on this by placing two cows in the car - making it personal to the shop itself.
