Interview with the B

What was your first impression? L: I would be lucky to be with a guy like him. B: My brain said, “Wow, Lisa is a very intelligent girl in the way she speaks and interacts with people. She is also very nice and easy to talk to.”

What was your first date? B: Motorcycle ride and a fire. L: Yep! It was my first time riding a motorcycle so I had to hold on tight to him ;).

Who initiated the first kiss? B: Lisa spent a while staring at my face but I made the final move. L: I was trying to tell him I wanted it but I didn’t want to actually make the move!

Who said “i love you” first? L: He did. We wrote a couple emails to each other at the beginning of our relationship and he wrote it in a really cute email. I made him read it out loud to me before I’d say it back. B: I did.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about each other? B: I have loved to see Lisa’s passion and drive. She loves to smile, makes everyone happy, and truly cares about what she is doing and how it affects other people. L: Brad is a strong communicator. He knows how to be open and vulnerable and talk about all things significant or insignificant. It’s made things a lot easier and also a lot more fun.

What is one of your favorite memories together? L: This is a tough one. But I loved going to the Parade of Homes together over the summer. We talked about what our dream family home would be after dating for like, 6 weeks. B: Tandem kayaking on the snake river. Lisa did an amazing job and I loved watching her enjoy the new experience.

Bride & Groom What do you love most about each other? L: I never realized that I could be taken care of the way that Brad takes care of me. He is so patient and gentle. He always knows how to fix things, with a hug or a laugh or a nap. B: Lisa is very supportive of everything I do. She is the perfect partner for me.

When did you know you’d found “the one”? B: It was a process between August and September. I said “I love you” on August 1st and Lisa almost broke up with me on Oct 1st. The couple of days when we almost broke up I knew I could not lose her. L: It’s true, I was thinking about breaking up. It was that make-or-break moment. I think I already knew I wanted us to end up together. I’d known for a while, but I had to take some time to make sure I was ready for that commitment.

What’s next for you two? L: We have so many ideas, but nothing is for sure. Maybe a big move, maybe grad school, eventually some babies and probably a dog. We’re just taking it one step at a time. B: Living life and having lots of fun.

FROM THE BRIDE & GROOM In the middle of a crazy season of life, we were lucky enough to find each other and start something wonderful. Being here today is the culmination of everything we’ve wanted as a couple since we began dating last June, and what both of us have been hoping to find individually for years prior to meeting one another. It’s been a bit of a journey, and we wouldn’t be here without the people around us who have pushed us to keep trying, to stay positive, and to give each other a chance. Celebrating this day with our family and friends is the best way we could mark this moment as the first step in our future together. Thank you for your love and support along the way, and for being here now to cheer us on.
