WeLCoMe Adult Learning at Bexhill College

Many adults enjoy learning something new or following a hobby in their spare time. Some want to develop a skill, whilst others would like to gain a qualification to help them further their career. Evening and part-time courses at Bexhill College offer the opportunity to do either. The College offers professional qualifications such as certificates and diplomas in health and Social Care or Early Years and gCSE’s, as well as a wide range of recreational courses which range from painting to cocktail making, knitting to languages. We hope there is something to interest everyone. All adults are encouraged to achieve qualifications to at least level 3 if they haven’t done so already. For adults between 19 and 23, where they are attempting a level 1, 2 or 3 course for the first time, there are no course fees - subject to the course being government funded. Please ask for details as this fee remission may be the opportunity you need to improve your qualifications and your future employment prospects. Some adults may need to pass gCSE English or Maths; or develop their basic skills to improve employment prospects. Others might like to gain A Levels or vocational diplomas and there is the opportunity to study alongside our daytime students, if this is your goal. If you just want to learn or develop new skills for fun, our recreational courses offer the opportunity to do this, and make new friends. For further information, contact the Adult Education Manager at Jameson Mews on 01424 215746 ext 201. I hope there will be something to interest you in September 2017.

Be The Person You Want To Be So many people lack confidence but most don’t know why. Research shows that we lack confidence because we believe the negative thoughts in our heads, accept them as truth, and then act upon this information. This course provides a combination of activities and communication tools, helping you find your way to be the person you really want to be. We will cover topics such as: • Learning what confidence is and, crucially, what it isn’t • Understanding what you want from life based on your dreams and desires • Identifying the thoughts that are sabotaging you and how to deal with them • How to take responsibility for your actions and emotions • Gain practical strategies to build you confidence like a muscle, every day Together, these will enable you to: • Live with greater freedom and less worry and anxiety • Be completely authentic; absolutely true to yourself in any situation, whether that’s at work, at home, social interactions, or planning for the future of your dreams • Develop the confidence and clarity to go after what you really want
