I take photos now because it’s the final step in expressing something I feel, have felt or want to feel. Freshmen year of high school is when I had my 1st boyfriend. He told me he thought I was only doing photography because it was the current trend. I was hurt because it showed he didn’t understand that photography is my genuine passion. Once we broke up, writing down my ideas and feelings and turning them into photos was empowering and natural. I was aching and the only thing that got me through it was to start expressing myself though photography. I’ve always been a horrible communicator. Photography allowed me to express every part of myself that I was scared to say; my thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Photography healed me, it gave me a way to express my feelings that I was too scared to sayand incapable of efficiently explaining. Photography saves me.
