WHAT’S HOT Bake sale
North Fork Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon May 28 at Station 2, 16675 County Road 126 in Pine Grove. Proceeds from the bake sale go to benefit the fire department.
MarketDayz flea market
The MarketDayz Arts, Antiques, Crafts, Collectibles and Flea Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Conifer Community Park at Beaver Ranch, 11369 S. Foxton Road. Admission is free. Vendor space is $50, and flea market space is $25. The event will also be held on the fourth Sunday of the month through September. An academic two-fer

t Conifer High School’s graduation, the clockwork procession of gleeful graduates had to pause a few moments while Michael Hall of Conifer picked up not only his high school diploma but a college degree as well. Hall graduated with a high school degree and an applied science associate’s degree in precision machining from Red Rocks Community College. He said he knew he could graduate from high school with two diplomas to go along with six machining certifications from Warren Tech. “When I had first figured out that I could do that,” Hall said, “I set that goal, and that was it.” The -year-old graduate pulled off his graduation double-dip with
help from a program through Jefferson County Public Schools, Warren Occupational Technical Center and RRCC.
The program lets students attend regular high school classes and take college classes that satisfy the graduation requirements of

The Colorado Division of Wildlife will host an introduction to fly-fishing clinic at a private ranch in Bailey on Memorial Day. Specific location details will be given to those registered. Twenty adult beginners will receive a half day of classroom instruction and then spend an afternoon learning hands-on fishing techniques in nearby waters. A $20 fee will cover the cost of lunch and supplies. A valid fishing license is also required for all participants. To register, e-mail matt.ferren@ state.co.us or call 303-291-7804. Luncheon for seniors
The Salvation Army Service Extension Unit for Conifer will host a free luncheon at noon Thursday, June 2, at Conference Baptist Church, 27154 N. Turkey Creek Road, Evergreen.
