THE DESK You’ve been sitting behind a desk of some form everyday for school. Well, it’s time to retire that weak desk you’ve been using and come up with the most awesomest desk ever devised by humankind. You are charged with designing the ultimate desk. Money is no object, so go nuts. Consider shape, function, power, the number of appropriate soda fountains, whatever your minds can conjure up. The only rule is it has to actually perform the function of a desk in some way. You can draw it or just write out features.

Re-framing... To change the viewpoint in relation to which a situation is experienced and to place it in another frame which fits the ‘facts’ of the same concrete situation equally well or even better, and thereby changing its entire meaning. Challenging our assumptions and categorizations.

YES, AND... PART 1: Decide which one of you is going first. The first person will draw 2 lines on the piece of paper. Then the second person will add 2 lines to the first person’s drawing. Then the first person will add 2 lines and so on, creating a drawing of a car. The twist: no speaking or communicating other than the drawing on the page.

And it ought to be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things. Because the innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions, and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new. -Niccolo Machiavelli The Prince
