October 2016 Dear Friends, A very active third quarter helped the overall market make up ground it lost in the first half of the year when comparing numbers to 2015. Year-to-date unit sales are up over 4% and dollar volume is down just 3.61%. Even more encouraging is that residential properties under contract are up 40% compared to a year ago at this time. Inventory challenges are emerging in some markets making the combination of active home shoppers and limited availability a prime opportunity to showcase your property with less competition compared to the middle of the summer. Our family-owned company continues to thrive thanks to an amazing staff and professional, dedicated brokers who simply love what they do. As we embark on our 4th year as a Berkshire Hathaway company, our national network of over 1,200 offices and more than 42,000 real estate professionals will open its first offices abroad next year.
