The Ruby Valley is still home to more cowboys than bankers. It is still common to wave at everyone you pass in your car and receive an enthusiastic salute from the other car’s driver. It offers a safe and warm embrace to retirees and growing families alike. Like other southwest Montana areas, its population is growing, but it’s growing at a pace barely noticeable via census records.
