Camp Teva makes nature a Jewish exploration zone through our adventures in the Portland area. Exploring the world as it was created for us, we’ll navigate Portland’s natural spaces, seek out fun experiences, and make friendships with kids from across Portland. Examples of Adventures: • A day hike at Horsetail Falls where we’ll hike beneath the thundering waterfall and eat lunch with amazing vistas looking up the Gorge. We’ll discuss Tikkun Olam and how nature will heal herself and how we can help. • A day hike to Mirror Lake to view Mt. Hood and feel the power of the mountains much as Moses and the Israelites may have felt when looking at Mt. Sinai. • A day hike and exploration of Milo McIver State Park where we will learn to make fires and cook bread as our ancestors did in the desert thousands of years ago.

Josh Lake, Director of Camp Teva Josh has been leading outdoor adventures for over 20 years. He is passionate about empowering children to understand the connection between Torah, our lives, and a healthy environment. He has a Master’s in Jewish Education, and is a Wilderness First Responder (WFR). Your child’s educational, emotional, and safety needs will be well served by this experienced professional.
