The Sundance Country Club offers many challenges to golfers.

This nine-hole, par-35 course features 2,915 yards from the longest tees.

Distances range from 160 yards (par-3 third hole) to 450 yards (par-5 sixth hole).

This course may be walked and includes some elevation changes. It offers plenty of challenge for its length, which makes it great for golfers of all ability levels.

“Come play at the Sundance golf course, where the Kid got his name. This course is great, where friends get together and enjoy beautiful views, food, golf, and some drinks,” said Jamie Fish, manager. “We have a great staff, walk-on course, full bar, and friendly people.”

Determining factors in which tees you should play include the distance in which you can accurately hit a ball, your overall golf ability and your golf handicap. Happe cited the playability and enjoyment factors as reasons to give the course a try.

“We have in house club repair and fittings as well as large selection of clubs, balls and bags to choose or order directly through us,” said Wetzel. “We have a large tournament schedule this year, including a club championship in the fall.”

PJ Wetzel said they are excited to welcome back the South Dakota Golf Association Match Play event.

“This year we are please to welcome back the SDGA Match play qualifying event and we are lucky to be one of the hosts this year. Golfers can come here, on July 2, play their round, and if they play great, they may get invited to the state wide tournament in Rapid City this year.”

Wetzel also wanted to highlight the Hot Springs three-person scramble on May 27. “This is really a fun event and we invite people to come play.” ber 1 as the course’s signature hole.

Southern Hills Golf Course also offers club rentals, cart rentals, an expanded food and beverage offering including weekend barbecues, and a pro shop.

The course is located at 1130 Clubhouse Dr., just off Highway 18 in Hot Springs.

The course is open from 7 a.m. to dusk, April through August, and opens at 7:30 a.m. in September and October.

“It is a short par-4, but it’s a difficult hole,” he said. “It’s surrounded by trees and sand traps.”

Greens fees are $25 for nine holes and $35 for 18 holes. Cart fees per seat are $20 for nine holes and $25 for 18 holes.

Specials include first-time singles memberships for $400 and first-time family member- ships for $550.

A special on Monday, and Tuesday allows visitors to golf all day. Costs of $50 include cart rental.

The clubhouse includes a small pro shop including clothing, tees, golf balls, hats, gloves, ball markers, and other items.

Food offerings include hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips.

Men’s days are set for 1 p.m.

Wednesday, with 18 holes nor- mally played. Ladies’ days are held each Thursday at 1 p.m. Meals are offered on both days.
