All cattle sell under the Suggested Terms and Conditions of the American Simmental Association and are available in the office the day of sale. Herd Health All Buzzard Hollow Ranch cattle are from Certified Free Brucellosis & Tuberculosis Free state. The mature cattle from BHR have been vaccinated with Bovi-Shield Gold FP5 VL5, Ivermectin and Vision 7. All young cattle from these herds have received Vision 7 with spur and a booster, as well as Bovi Shield Gold FP5 VL5 an a booster. •Texas is officially classified as free of Brucellosis & TB.

Welcome, to Buzzard Hollow Ranch and the 24th Annual Designer’s Classic Sale, featuring THE BHR BLEND, POWERED BY FLECKVIEH. I am not going to say much about each individual lot because you can only say feminine, thick, sound feet and legs, sound proven genetics etc. so many times until it becomes redundant. I have explained my breeding philosophy in the next paragraph and from that you can follow the pedigrees and how this was used to create this years sale cattle. All the data is there on each lot so you make the decision as to what you like and dislike. The offering presented to you reflects 30 plus years of breeding with a blending of maternal and power genetics. The blending process followed allows for maternal genetics on the bottom side and power Genetics on the top side in the first generation and then power on the top side and maternal on the bottom side and this rotation is continued until a balance of these traits is consistent in the producing cow herd. Also in this blending process is carcass quality and it is blended in the same fashion. I hope that you will take the time to study the pedigrees to see how this blending process has worked to create the base cow herd that has produced this offering. The Fleckvieh genetics represented here in the Full Flecks, Purebred Simmentals, SimAngus and Simbrah are true Fleckvieh Genetics and if you trace them back they all originated from Germany or Austria. The South African’s took the Fleckvieh Genetics from Germany and Austria and created a base of Fleckvieh Genetics that excelled in their climatic conditions which is much the same as those in North and South America. The guest consignors are a special portion of this event and I want to thank them for the quality genetics that they have presented here for your appraisal. I would also like to thank Rancho Los Sabinos, who purchased BHR Desmond D764E, for allowing me to use him as clean up sire on these females since he will not go to Mexico till after this sale. On a final note, the World Simmental Fleckvieh Federation Congress will be held in Ft Worth, Texas September 24th through the 28th and I would hope that each of you made a special effort to attend and visit with the Simmental Fleckvieh breeders from the 28 member countries. Several years ago, I purchased two bulls from Ross and Betty Small a couple of polled bulls that were extremely good on calving ease to use on some of the females that needed calving ease changed and possibly to increase frame score a bit. A big powerful Sargent daughter that alwasy produces a good one. If you have followed my consignments over the years to BHR and Magnolia Classic sales, they all go back to Sunny Valley Sargent daughters. Well, it’s time to start letting them go and this one is special. She milks great, great disposition and a polled black baldy that produces. Check out her red, polled heifer calf at side. She’s special too and she knows it. Sired by the SimAngus bull we showed in Louisville and Denver this past year. What a pair!

Bernadean was purchased by Romeo Orantes and a group from Mexico in 2016 after which she was flushed and all embryos were sent to Mexico. She was raised by a first calf heifer that was sired by DDD SARGENT ROTE and her dam was a 3/4-1/4 sired by BHR Doorn out of RCC DAPHINE a great 1/2 blood that was the dam of SCC B13 and the GD of SCC Kimberly S612F. Her sire is RPF Lucky Strike, a RPF POL RIGHT DIRECTION son and on the bottom side he goes back to one of the best Brahman cows that ever walked MISS V8 464/6. Her EPD’s don’t show it but just look at Eratha’s actual data coming off a first calf heifer. Weaning weight 595, no creep, yearling weight 802 with 4.13% IMF and an REA OF 1.29/cwt.
