coasted COASTAL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM The Coastal Community Engagement Program is delivered on behalf of Gold Coast City Council and incorporates three projects: CoastEd, BeachCare and the Keep Australia Beautiful Clean Beaches Competition. The aim of the program is to enhance community engagement on the Gold Coast through an education based program, a volunteer based dune management program and co-ordination of Gold Coast entries into Keep Australia Beautiful’s Clean Beaches Competition. Coastal Community Engagement Program City of Gold Coast coordinates a number of coastal community engagement programs for students and the community to learn about coastal processes, the abundance of sea life and vegetation, and existing as part of a precious beach eco-system. School holiday events Beach Treasure Hunt Learn about the beach, the dunes and the ocean through an exciting treasure hunt. Find all the items on your bingo card and answer the hidden questions for prizes. Wednesday 23 September, 10am – 11am

What CoastEd offers We offer free and subsidised education sessions covering a wide range of topics that relate to the Gold Coast coastal zone. Our interactive sessions and hands-on activities can be booked for 30 or 60 minutes. There are options to extend your session or add additional programs for a small cost. All sessions are facilitated by experts in the field of coastal management, marine science and environmental education. The Spit (near training wall)
