With the Summer Collection we want to tell a story about the celebration of authentic relationships that capture the spirit of summer. We want to capture those moments and keep them like a memory. Photography is the element we used in digital and film. To optimize the authenticity and richness of the film grain, we introduced a contact sheet into our design system. This enables a playful layout across digital and print, trying the story together across multiple platforms. For the special treatment stores we wanted to add a special element to enhance the story about the summer. We chose elements like dunes, sun rays and paper windmills which we find typical elements for the summer. the inspiration comes from places I’ve visited while traveling and what I like to use when I am designing.

That’s why we created a exterior and interior design with a call you can’t ignore: Respect all pronouns. Because to use someone’s pronouns is to see how they move through the world. We see you and you are beautiful, it is important that everybody can tell their own story.

Industrieplein, Hengelo (NL)

What used to be a gloomy, grey traffic square at the back of the railway station is now a lively city that functions as a new urban link in the city center of Hengelo. Its exuberant vegetation and state-of-theart skate park set it apart from other railway station squares in the Netherlands. The Industrieplein clearly presents Hengelo as an inclusive city moving forward to a sustainable future. The reason for the complete makeover of the Industrieplein is the redevelopment of a former industrial area south of the city center of Hengelo. While preserving its industrial heritage, the area is being transformed into a dynamic urban network. The Industrieplein forms the link between this district and the old city center. Thousands of people pass the square every day on their way to school, work or the nearby music venue Metropool. Plenty of reason to convert the square into something more than a logistic hub.But how do you design a square for so many different users and with such a large flow of visitors? Not only the usual functions such as logical routing, a Kiss & Ride, a taxi rank and bicycle parking had to be positioned on the square. A skate park, climate friendly vegetation and a new watercourse also deserved a prominent spot.Creating space for all these users and functions was a complex puzzle. Public support was an important aim. That is why, at an early stage of the design process, meetings were held with various stakeholders. All their interests and wishes have been carefully translated into a square designed as a composition of green shards. These green shards distinguish different functional zones and guide the pathways to and from the station entrance. The result is a well-arranged, safe square that simultaneously and harmoniously offers space to people’s, skate and traffic movements as well as calm and pleasant spots to rest and relax, meet and greet. Ever since its opening, the Industrieplein is becoming the place to be for all skaters and BMX riders in the region and beyond. The natural integration of the skate park shows how collaboration and creativity results into a square for everyone: young and old, passers-by and users, pedestrians and traffic, water and greenery. In this sense, the Industrieplein not only connects two city area’s in Hengelo, but also its residents and visitors.

Hermès - Tokyo (JP) ‘A Soft Gust Of Wind’ The sports theme of the Maison Hermès window merges softness and the act of making to connect with the skillfully made fashion of Hermès. This edition of Hermès’ street theater is a narrative featuring soft textile, floating movements, whirlwinds, a Japanese master and a mastermind sewing an imaginary landscape handcrafted from woolen felt. The title ‘A Soft Gust Of Wind’ is a near quote of a famous Japanese wood print by master Hokusai. The windy scene in the window display on the right shows a translation of the graceful movement of a scarf whirling on a gust of wind. The window display stages the Hermès heavily decorated scarf as a kite up in the air with the wind as competing force. The backdrop is a scenery that is stitched onto wool felt with trees and figures plodding through it. The drawing is based on an illustration with the title ‘A Sudden Gust of Wind’ by the well known Japanese printmaker Hokusai, an illustration of people who struggle as they seem to have been caught off guard by a whirlwind that tries to rid them of their papers, hats and scarfs. While in the stormy scene on the right everything is about defying a meteorically changing force, on the left there’s a figure calmly engineering the world to be, with a sewing machine. He’s sewing a soft universe. The illustrations are drawn with black yarn that is cut off loosely to create a sort of ruffled effect with the fluttering thread. Behind the artisan there is a poster that illustrates things related to meteorology: a classification of clouds, natural elements, a weather vane, stars, the moon and the sun.

Residence Hunting, Turnhout (BE) Interior design + 40 meter long curtain

12 __ portfolio bianca lancee

We completed the design of a home for one of a client. Bright colors, bespoke furniture and furnishings fit the wonderful art collection well and set the design apart. Bespoke flooring, a fence, cabinets, a kitchen, beds and curtains were made for flexible use and merge in with the rest of the interior. On the first floor, the prints on the (in total 40-meter long) curtains show a gradient color which matches the ceiling all the way down to the floor. On these curtains, we made a drawing of their former city Eindhoven so they will remember every time their old ‘home’ when they close or open their curtains. The old marble and wooden floors return as a graphic print of their former self and previous window views are reduced to grainy pixel landscapes on the checkered curtains.

Designer, Blanco Jewelry (NL/BE) owner

14 __ portfolio bianca lancee

In 2015 I started my own company, called Blanco Jewelry. I make jewelry from antique cutlery. I sold my products in more than ten stores, ran many markets and took care of the styling of shops, fairs and lifestyle markets. I also maintained contact with the salespeople in the stores and talked to them about how we could make a better experience of my product, which resulted in more sales. In addition to selling in offline stores, I kept the website and social media up-to-date online and I took care of the corporate identity and photography. See Blanco Jewelry’s Instagram for more info: https://www.instagram.com/blancojewelry/ Due to my current work, I now mainly outsource it, but my products are still widely sold in the Netherlands
