Hainan, also known as "Coconut City", is the capital of Hainan Province, the strategic fulcrum city of the national "One Belt and One Road", and the central city of Beibu Bay urban agglomeration. Haikou is a small port town in history, the formation of commercial activities earlier. As the commercial center of Hainan, Haikou gathers goods from all over the island. Haikou's large shopping malls have increased in recent years, in addition to the original Lok Pusheng, First Department store, Sang Sang, DC City, Pearl Square, Oriental Square and so on. In addition, you can also visit the traditional folk market, by the way, you can also experience the local customs. Haixiu Avenue is the most prosperous commercial street in Haikou, Haikou Hotel near the lot, gathered a lot of Hainan tourist souvenir shops.
One of the main challenges facing shopping mall retail concepts is to provide a mix of shopping and entertainment to meet the diverse needs of shopping mall customers. As an auxiliary supporting project of the University of Mines, Boiler was designed and constructed in 1978. Since that, it has guaranteed the stable supply of the heat source of The Department of Architecture of China University of Mining and Technology was established in 1985. The Department of Architecture is responsible for the architectural design and its. According to the spirit of the relevant documents of Xuzhou City, it was shut down in the same year, and the boiler room completed its historical mission. Since stopping running, it has been abandoned for many years, and the internal facilities have been dismantled.
During the 1980s, the heat source stability of major universities in China was mainly achieved through the boiler room. With the development of science and technology and the emergence of smog problems, college boiler rooms have gradually withdrawn from the historical stage, but also accompanied by the problem: large boiler rooms are idle or abandoned. Plus, with the expansion of the new campus of major universities, the original boiler rooms have lost their former glory. However, due to the form of structure- it is supported by a bent structure and the space is open, Such a large space form provides advantages for future transformation.
This box is a renovation of the main building of the old boiler factory. The large space formed by the truss structure is transformed into a multifunctional space. Teachers and students can communicate and study here, and a variety of lecture forms can be realized in this large space
The box focuses on the chimney. Because of the material and space character of the chimney, the box is designed as a space for musicology students to study. The space under the chimney is used as a stage for students to show their musical talents. The stairs around the chimney provide a space to watch.
The box is designed as college gallery ,embroidering on the belt corridor .The belt serves as a fast track because of its long strip space. People can visit the exhibits by art student through the ramp that circulates around the belt.
the box focuses on slag pour-out equipment. as the slag pour-out equipment has unique space, it is designed as a study zone. The upper half of it is used as a reference room, while the lower half of it is used as a learning
STORIES OF TILES Folk Culture Museum Design

The site is located in the Hubu Mountain of Hubu, and is civilized due to the traditional architecture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. the ancient buildings are in the mountains, staggered, and ingeniously conceived. The architectural forms are mainly traditional courtyards. There are both the regularization of the northern courtyards and the twists and turns of the southern houses. The wall is made of bluestone and blue brick. The beam frame is made of large materials, carved and painted, with fine carving and unique style.
As one of the traditional crafts that are about to disappear in China, there are fewer and fewer people engaged in the art of tile making. Tiles, which have been indispensable for building construction for thousands of years. Walking on the ancient streets and alleys, looking at the bricks and tiles, as if carrying the memories of your past life. Looking back at China for thousands of years, the smell of tiles and the fireworks of the world has always been difficult to separate.
The project explores the existence of tiles in traditional architecture to create new forms in today's society. The study on old materials and traditional construction,as well as the use of new materials and new techniques will give tiles a new meaning in current environment. Through the interaction of people with tiles in different scenes, it evokes the memories of the old houses in Qingwa, while bringing a new experience.
