About BIBA Academy BIBA Academy graduates are some of the most highly sort after stylists in Australia. Our courses for local and international students include: Certificate II in Hairdressing (Pre-Apprenticeship in Hairdressing), Certificate III in Hairdressing (Qualify as a Hairdresser), Certificate IV in Hairdressing (Advanced hairdressing Techniques), Apprenticeship Training, Dress & Style, Barbering, Salon Creatives, Cutting Foundations,Re-Skill. BIBA Academy have two central locations in Fitzroy and Melbourne CBD. Practical experience is key to a BIBA

Academy education. BIBA campuses are salon-simulated environments where practical work is done. Hair styling is conducted on live models, ensuring our students are exposed to the situations present in everyday salons. Our team of specialists teachers participate in ongoing development programs locally and around the world. Barbering Designed to deliver a concise introduction to the second oldest profession in the world, the BIBA Academy Barbering Short Course focuses on shape refinement, scissor over comb techniques, clipper work and will take you from classic shapes into fashion forward work.

Barbering | BIBA Academy The Barbering course will leave you skilled in the dedicated cutting, styling and finishing techniques found in barbering. The Barbering course is based on the men’s component of Certificate III in Hairdressing course. The course is self-paced therefore the duration of the course is dependent on the individuals skill level. Barbering covers: Sectioning patterns, shampoo / basin services, scissor movement, consultation, Traditional and classic men’s cutting techniques, scissor over comb, clipper over comb, clipper work, finishing techniques, neck shaving techniques, perform beard / moustache trims, finishing / styling techniques. Throughout the course students are encouraged to develop a folio of images of particular looks students want to learn how to achieve. Training barber shops have been established within the Academies, inviting the public to be models for the students. At BIBA real life hands on experience makes up 80% of a student’s learning process and provides invaluable hands-on experience.

Enrolments Enrolments / Start Dates All applications must be handed-in in person. During this time you will be asked to sit a Literacy and Numeracy Test. You will also be given a tour of the academy to help make you familiar of our environment and will also be given clear details of your course curriculum and the course requirements. All questions are welcome.

Course Fees - VTG Tuition Tuition fees and charges 2016 - VTG Tuition All Barbering students enrolling in 2016 under VTG are required to pay a “Tuition Contribution Fee” and “Student service and Amenities Fee”, which is calculated as follows:

This charge is calculated of the nominal hours of the course, for Certificate III in Hairdressing SIH30111 barbering modules only total to 370 nominal hours. The second fee is the “Student Service and Amenities Fee”. This is a total fee of maximum $50. Your concession card must be valid at the time of enrolment. If your concession card is not valid will not receive your discount. Payments can be made either: • Cash, Cheque, Credit (Visa/Master only) or EFTPOS/Debit card CONCESSIONS The standard concession is available to a person who holds a valid Commonwealth Health Care Card, a Pensioner Concession Card, or a Veteran’s Gold Card, and people who are dependant partners or children of the Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, but not the Veteran’s Card. Under the Indigenous Completions Initiative, for enrolments in a course at any level the BIBA Academy must charge the concession fee to individuals who self-identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Student Support

Student support services BIBA Academy will be sensitive to all cross-cultural issues and meet the special needs of students (especially those under the age of 18). Students at the Academy will receive adequate orientation and access to information regarding: Accommodation, Counseling, Concurrent assistance, Welfare facilities & Literacy and numeracy assistance. Should students require advice on any of the above-mentioned services, they are requested to see Charlotte at the BIBA Academy office. BIBA Academy will also ensure that students have access to fair and equitable processes for dealing with complaints. Queries regarding course, progress or difficulties, please contact the office, as there are many means of assistance available to students.
