47 Años de Feria de Artesanías
La Edición #130 del Desfile del Descubrimiento, celebrando 47 años de la Feria de Artesanías, tiene como propósito conmemorar la llegada de los españoles a nuestra tierra, así como la rica historia y cultura local que nos distingue. Este evento busca reconocer y celebrar la diversidad cultural que ha surgido a lo largo del tiempo, promoviendo un diálogo sobre nuestras raíces y tradiciones.
Christian, director del Departamento de Turismo, destaca que este año se espera la participación de entre 250 y 270 artesanos y 40 kioscos que exhibirán plantas, bisutería, gastronomía y propuestas de asociaciones sin fines de lucro. Se espera tener entre 35 y 40 delegaciones participando en el desfile, prometiendo un evento colorido con carrozas, batuteras y reinas. Para los grupos participantes de otros pueblos que no cuenten con transportación, se les proveerá transporte y alimentos. Además, los artesanos de pueblos lejanos que requieran hospedaje tendrán alojamiento gratuito y almuerzo incluido.
El tema de este año será "Los Pozos Colombinos de La Aguada en el Segundo Viaje y Desembarco de Cristóbal Colón," y se prevé que la cabalgata supere los 6,000 jinetes. Este año, el desfile comenzará a las 10 a.m. para agilizar el proceso debido a la gran cantidad de participantes. El evento iniciará el 11 de octubre con el Bienal de Pintores, una exposición cultural previa al desfile, que se llevará a cabo el 19 de noviembre de 2024. Este evento familiar promete ser un significativo encuentro cultural y artístico.

The 130th Edition of the Discovery Parade, celebrating 47 years of the Crafts Fair, aims to commemorate the arrival of the Spanish in our land, as well as the rich history and local culture that distinguishes us. This event seeks to recognize and celebrate the cultural diversity that has developed over time, promoting a dialogue about our roots and traditions.
Christian, director of the Department of Tourism, highlights that this year, the participation of between 250 and 270 artisans is expected, along with 40 kiosks showcasing plants, jewelry, gastronomy, and proposals from nonprofit associations. It is anticipated that between 35 and 40 delegations will participate in the parade, promising a colorful event with floats, baton twirlers, and queens. For participating groups from other towns that do not have transportation, transport and food will be provided. Additionally, artisans from distant towns requiring accommodation will receive free lodging and lunch.
This year ' s theme will be "The Columbian Wells of La Aguada in the Second Voyage and Disembarkation of Christopher Columbus," and the parade is expected to surpass 6,000 horseback riders. This year, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. to streamline the process due to the large number of participants. The event will kick off on October 11 with the Biennial of Painters, a cultural exhibition leading up to the parade, which will take place on November 19, 2024. This family event promises to be a significant cultural and artistic gathering.
