Welcome everyone to our 17th annual bull sale. Hope this finds you all well and rested. We are excited to present to you our selection of yearling bulls and our NEW addition of elite heifers to this 2023 sale. These open heifers will become excellent mothers and additions to your herd. They reflect the backbone of our philosophy, of the importance of the momma cow and calving ease. Selected on performance and workability for you. We offer you deep sided, clean fronted, good solid footed heifers with friendly dispositions. Looking back on the year we are happy with our choices of cow to bull breeding picks, showing the conformity and genetic punch of the sale bulls on offer today. They are deep and stout and sound. We never rest in pursuing a premier product to offer you, our customers. Herd sire and Dam selecting is a vast and un-ending job. We have introduced a couple new sire groups this year to help our long time repeat customers with new expanded genetics that will deliver a positive result.

Our bulls are still pail fed a “Complete Bull Developer” pellet ration. Along with free choice alfalfa grass hay mixture for a good balanced diet. We appreciate an easy fleshing efficient animal that will not fall apart on you after purchase. Please note: Our bulls are ALL parent verified.

The entire years process remains fun, (with the exception of a few winter storms), the excitement of the next calf crop and visiting all our old and new friends. The cycle just keeps moving us forward. We think if we had started in our 20’s the knowledge and herd we would have today. Go get em Juniors!! Linda retires this year from her other job. She says she plans to spend some time sitting on a pail out in the summer pasture enjoying her cows, the black ones. It is great fun having a little competition.

Our family of 6 kids and our extended family and friends give us a lot of verbal support. Thank you for that support. Herd Health Management

We provide the best care possible to our herd working closely with the Fort Macleod Vet Clinic; Dr. Todd Baker, Dr. Claudia Schlueter, and Alycia Webster; can’t ask for better service. We follow a strict vaccination protocol. Our calves are given MuSE and Vit ADE and Enforce at birth. Replacement heifers receive there 1st shot of Pyramid FP5 VL5 Booster in February prior to breeding. In June at tattoo time our calves are given Long-Range, Pyramid FP5 with Presponse, Fermicon 7/Somnugen and DNA Tissue samples are taken also. All our cows at this time also receive Cylence along with the Herd Sires. At preg check time in August; our cows receive a Tasvax-8 way and Express FP5-VL5. Calves all receive Pyramid FP5 with Presponse (booster) and a 8-way. We also use Quiet Wean’s at this time and remove them in 7 days at weaning time. All our cows are vaccinated for scours and are also given Boss pour on for lice.

We believe it’s important for our customers be informed of our strict herd management. All bulls will have received Fusaguard 1st shot and booster prior to sale day. We have used LongRange (Boehringer) for 2 years now and truly believe it makes a difference on our calves. We have also used Boss Feeds (Cattle Active ) lick tubs in the spring during calving and have seen a real difference in health of our calves and cows at this stressful time.

Bulls are started on Bullseye pellets at weaning and gradually stepped up over time as they grow. At all times our bulls have access to Free choice hay and we

POST SALE BULL DEVELOPMENT:

We will winter your yearling bulls FREE OF CHARGE until APRIL 1, 2023. After that, feed cost of $3.00 per head per day will be charged. All bulls returning to the consignors’ must be insured. All bulls will be housed at buyers risk, the consignors will not be responsible for any type of injury while the bulls are in their care.

Very impressive.

We chose take sell semen in the Frozen Genetics on Ice again last fall and were overwhelmed by the response from our fellow Red Angus breeders to try and gather up some of his semen. This is the last Missions to sell for us as we emptied the semen tank. Besides there being 350 animals sired by Mission in the CAA database; the best kept secret is the females. They are a true picture of a perfect Angus cow. The 3 sons in this years sale; spell consistent all over. They will provide awesome calves Mission is in the top 20% for BW, WW and YW, you can’t beat that all round performance which will work in anybody’s herds. Pssssssst….. keep the females
