Hiking trails are abundant in the San Bernardino National Forest, most notable the Pacific Crest Trail, which snakes through the north and east ends of Big Bear Valley. Most trailheads are easily accessible, and you’re treated to lush meadows, natural springs, and outstanding panoramic views! As you delve deeper into the woods to explore, you may find some boulders to climb or a down tree that is great fun to walk across. Various evergreens, from white firs to Jeffery pines and Ponderosas, provide shade throughout. See trails map on page 19 to pick out your next hike in Big Bear.
