"In other news, has anyone noticed that if you write "Hours" enough times, it starts looking weird"
I hope everyone is keeping warm as things slowly get colder. And for those in Rocky, a little bit less hot! This month the news from the Ops Desk is we are rolling out a new After Hours Calling number.
This will hopefully alleviate some of the confusion around when you need to talk to someone and when it's fine to leave a message with an auto prompt for different scenarios. Just remember, if someone at 3 am in the morning cannot help you until 7 am then it might be worth not waking someone up.
The new number is the Toowoomba landline. 4632 9559
PS. There is no caller ID so be sure to leave your name in any message.
Charlotte Ernst: Great work on your recent STA! You made Lynn’s dreams come true and gave her a night to remember.

Josh Horne: Life can get on top of us, but, it’s our attitude and ability to push forward that makes for a great person and a reliable worker! Thanks for all your hard work and commitment.
Peta Raine: You made a huge impact in the Ibis SIL with routines, reporting and using your personal time to create eye-catching routines for Sean. You have gone above and beyond in your role and we just really appreciate your dedication to your role

One of the most noticeable changes has been the installation of new flooring. Not only does it enhance the aesthetic appeal of our units, but it also makes them more wheelchair-friendly. We're thrilled with the results and believe that these upgrades will greatlybenefit all our residents.
But that's not all this month, we have some special visitors coming toourRockhamptonoffice. We'reexcitedtowelcomeDavidandBilly for the first time! They'll be spreading their friendly vibes as they visit alltheSILhomes, meetingresidentsandstaffalongtheway.

The Toowoomba Show is normally our first “fresh” days of the oncoming chill, and it hasn’t let us down. It’s nature's way of giving us a heads-up to be prepared. When at home or with a client take the time to check any heating implements that are being used are placed in a safe spot.
Toowoomba can have four seasons in one day so please check if your clients are dressed appropriately for the upcoming season. Better to have a coat and not need it than not to have one and need it. Please share any ideas you have for winter activities. Stay warm.

We have had another month of fun-filled adventures with our Rockhampton Day Service group!
We kicked off April with a Trip to Yeppoon where we spent the day relaxing and walking along the beach. We also participated in so many fun activities throughout the rest of the month. From thrilling arcade games at Time Zone to exploring the historic sights of Mt Morgan, we’ve been on a whirlwind of activities that have kept us entertained and engaged.
We joined forces with the School holiday group and participated in some cool science experiments together. It was great to see everyone engage with one another. We also made some yummy food in our cooking sessions each Tuesday. This month we made Chicken and salad wraps, Zucchini Slice, Spaghetti Bolognaise and blue cupcakes to show our support for Autism Month. And of course, our Wednesdays wouldn’t be complete without some friendly competition at 10 Pin Bowling.
As we look back on this month, it's safe to say we have been super busy! But the fun doesn’t stop there, we have some pretty cool activities planned for the month of May. Sausage sizzles, Emu park trips, visits to the Koorana Crocodile Farm and a visit to the Movies are just a few things to look forward to!
What an incredible two weeks it was for our Rockhampton School holidays group!
Our school holiday program provides children with the chance to interact and socialise with peers outside of the school environment. We encourage children to become more independent and self-reliant. All of our school holiday kids are opportunities to make decisions, solve problems, and take on responsibilities, fostering their growth and development.
We participated in so many fun activities such as fishing adventures at Yeppoon, dinosaur mini golf at Cooberie Park, Tie Dying, caching “Kung Fu Panda” at the movies, exploring the Rockhampton Zoo and mastering some new recipes in our cooking sessions. It was great to see all the kids bond well and form friendships with one another.
If the Big Dog School holiday Program sounds like something that your child may be interested in, please feel free to reach out to our Rockhampton branch on 49734611 or visit our website bigdogsupport.com.au
This month, we embarked on a culinary adventure to Japan, exploring the delightful world of Japanese pancakes adorned with an array of fresh fruit toppings. The experience was not only delicious but also a wonderful opportunity to immerse ourselves in Japanese cuisine. Additionally, our chicken tzatziki wraps and lemon chicken dishes received rave reviews, adding a savory twist to our culinary explorations.
In terms of our outings, we had the pleasure of visiting The Ipswich Rail Museum, where we delved into the rich history of Queensland's railway industry. The museum's exhibits, ranging from historic steam locomotives to modern trains, provided us with fascinating insights into the evolution of rail transportation in the region. Riding on one of the trains was undoubtedly a highlight of the visit, offering us a firsthand experience of the railways' enduring legacy.
Amidst our adventures, we've remained committed to staying active with regular bowling sessions and swimming outings. Our daily brain warm-ups have also proven to be both stimulating and effective in keeping our minds sharp and engaged. Additionally, we've introduced new daily task sheets to enhance our organizational skills and prepare us for the day ahead.
As always, morning tea continues to be a cherished tradition, offering us a a delightful opportunity to indulge in tasty treats while fostering connections with our fellow community members. These moments of camaraderie and shared enjoyment further strengthen the bonds of friendship within our community.
