EVITE POSTMARK Bringing people together through vibrant celebrations ART DIRECTION & TREND RESEARCH + SOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS + MARKETING CAMPAIGNS + PHOTOSHOOTS + WEBSITE DESIGN + BLOG CONTENT

Evite Postmark was launched as a brand that would elevate the Evite platform for a more sophisticated audience. My primary focus as Art Director at Evite was championing the company’s high creative standards while introducing new artists, fresh designs and creative communication concepts. While leading the in-house and freelance teams, we grew the new brand from a 5K a month venture into an over an 100,000K a month business in less than 6 months. As part of my Art Director role, I helped create the brand’s visual direction and art directed all the new designs while collaborating with the marketing team on creating story driven content. I managed the Evite Postmark “voice” online and through social media, collaborating with the Evite President and content teams on developing new social media strategies. I was then involved in designing parties and working with brands/sponsors to devise real content that went far beyond the invitation.

NOT NEUTRAL For Bed Bath & Beyond DESIGN + PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT + PACKAGING + RETAIL DISPLAY

NotNeutral’s vibrant collection was translated for the national audience through soaps, candles and housewares. The purchase displays were redesigned, showcasing lifestyle photography and unique patterns. A handful of fresh products were also launched with the new line. I was responsible for rethinking the retail graphics for the pop up store, highlighting the brand message and strong palette within the Bed Bath & Beyond space. Part of the new design campaign for Bed Bath & Beyond involved creating a series of graphics for a candle and soap program. The loose theme of “nature scents” such as grass, wave, twig, bloom, cloud, and vine was echoed through the colorful, modern patterns on the candle packaging. In addition to designing new products for the national chain, notNeutral was asked to come up with a system for packaging them. Using lifestyle photos of the products in conjunction with isolated profiles - while utilizing all four sides of the box to create alternate views - became the design strategy.

BLIK SURFACE GRAPHICS Taking creativity off the wall ART DIRECTION + PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT + SOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTIONS ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS + PRINT PRODUCTION + PHOTOSHOOTS

Blik Surface Graphics is an online wall graphic company selling removable wall decals. As one of the original wall decal companies, Blik’s market position came from its unique artists collaborations and diverse product applications. I specialized in promoting the product across all channels including print, web, photo shoots and retail. From managing video content and creating daily social media promotions to art directing custom wall murals and finding new talent, being an Art Director at the boutique local company allowed me to take on diverse design roles. I regularly visualized and strategized online promotions and giveaways. I directed the company’s 10 year anniversary party, designing the event graphics and its subsequent social media outreach.

THE COMMONHOUSES Designing a lifestyle driven vacation home rental destination ART DIRECTION + PHOTOSHOOT + WEB DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT + SOCIAL MEDIA + COPY/CONTENT

The Commonhouses is an online vacation rental destination for several Venice Beach bungalows. I consulted with the local client on coming up with a strategy for selling the vacation home lifestyle. The client wanted to develop a website that showcased all of her properties, devising a cohesive brand that told the story of the beach houses. She wanted the website to promote the turnkey vacation home rental service as well to create a community for previous and future visitors. I art directed and orchestrated the photoshoot to create the lifestyle driven photographs for all of the promotional materials. I designed and built the website platform, creating all of the brand copy. I also initiated and art directed all of the social media platforms and email newsletter that conveyed the visual brand style.

IMLI EATS Spicing up Indian Streetfood BRAND STRATEGY + STORY DEVELOPMENT + LOGO + BRAND COLLATERAL ART DIRECTION + PHOTOSHOOTS + PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS + SOCIAL MEDIA ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS

What do you get when you cross an Indian food critic and blogger, an American born Indian businessman, and a former fashion designer turned line cook? A lot of delicious client meetings! The clients had a concept for an “authentic” Indian restaurant, but needed the visuals to have their ideas come to life. The project involved creating moodboards and evoking the type of visuals that could capture “real Indian street food,” researching the fine art of Indian sign painters and the layered history of Indian walls. Avoiding cliche colors and expected imagery, the design evokes the hustle and bustle of Indian street life. Primary colors - royal reds, sky blues and golden yellows - pop off the page to showcase stars, elephants and bold geometeric block prints. Layers of texture evoke weathered, ancient walls. The messages are loud and confident, touting their services in a bold Indian fashion. It’s fun, bold and slightly cheeky, the perfect fit to the delicious food. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, as the real India is a place where anything goes and everyone competes for attention with grand promises. Too much is never enough in India.

MAVEN Selling a Fashion Forward “It Life” BRAND STRATEGY + STORY DEVELOPMENT + PRESENTATION LOOKBOOKS + MULTIMEDIA + ART DIRECTION + PHOTOSHOOTS + PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS

The Ortigas, a renown, high end developer in Manila, reached out to come up with naming, positioning, visual identity, and promotional materials for a new tower in Capitol Commons. Our concept, “The It Life,” was inspired by fashion and lifestyle branding rather than other residential branding campaigns. For implementing the concept, we decided to tell the building’s story through the eyes of an upcoming, high profile local blogger. We had to go beyond the typical branding materials for a high rise, as the tower was not built yet and the clients had a lot of competition. Rather than selling the new high-rise with the typical renderings, design details and neighborhood information, we decided to appeal to the youthful market by creating a lifestyle oriented campaign that showcases a day in the life of local blogger. We found Kim Jones, the fashionista blogger through Instagram, and connected her with our client as the new face of the marketing campaign. Naming the tower, “Maven” further told the story of a fashion maven, creating a persona for the building as Manila’s “it” girl. The visual style is vibrant, artistic and happy, mixing colorful lifestyle shots, trendy fashion vignettes and artistic watercolors.
