118 years ago, the youth mentoring movement was born right here in our beloved New York City. In the decades since, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS of NYC) has come to represent the very essence of what makes this city so special. New York City— where strangers meet at corner coffee carts, stand side-by-side on the subway each morning, and come together for weekend block parties on neighborhood streets—thrives on human connections, and this is exactly what BBBS of NYC creates each day.

From watching the Mets play at Citi Field in Queens to exploring the beauty of Prospect Park in Brooklyn to visiting the Bronx Zoo for STEM inspirations, our matches experience mentorship moments that are steeped in New York City's commitment to ignite youth potential. New Yorkers show up and show out for each other, and nowhere else is this level of care and commitment more visible than within our BBBS of NYC community. Our programs respond to the interests and aspirations of our Littles and support our Bigs to take a stand for young New Yorkers. Together, our matches remain true to the spirit of this city, one of connection to something larger than the individual, in a place where dreams are made; leaders are born; relationships are built across bridges, tunnels, and subways; and the biggest possible futures are created.
