In the early years Ricci Ltd. was a mail order company which produced its own range of cycle clothing. This range was innovative from day one, with professional-grade Lycra multiple-panel bib shorts, synthetic chamois and leg grippers. All of these innovations are now considered the norm. Ricci Ltd. manufactured here in Redruth, sold directly to cyclists, and exported to France. This export drive also lead to the company having direct imports of from such companies as Mavic, Vittoria , Sedis, Maillaird and Look. This sudden growth in export sales gave the buying power to expand and cater for the demand of racing cyclists back at home. And so began the relationship with Italy, France and Belguim, the hotbed for cycle racing in Europe. In terms of cycles, Ricci Ltd. distributed Colnago, Basso ,chesini, Battaglin and also sold Concorde, De Rosa and Merckx. The fruitful relationship that blossomed with the Italian manufacturers furthered the companies knowledge and experience to deliver top end products to their clients. In the last decade frame production for all bike manufacturers we supply has moved to the Far East, with the exception of Trek who produce their high-end bike frames at their base of operations in Wisconsin, USA. We currently also work very closely with Cannondale, a relationship we started in 2000 bec

In the 1982, Ricci co-founded Bike Chain Ricci with his wife Liz Hart: “I packed in trying to carry on racing in this country when I realised I couldn’t, for example, travel to Scotland to race one weekend and carry on with business. The business was always based here because I lived with my parents in Redruth; we bought this premisis in 1985 and gradually shifted from a mail-order base to a retail base.” Bike Chain Ricci is now Cornwall’s premier indipendent bike shop. Predominantly stockists of Trek, Cannondale and Merida road and mountain bikes, ‘the Bike Chain’ caters for all types of two-wheeled fanatics. As well as this, a wide range of cycle clothing, accessries, and the latest in sports nutrition can be found. Working with the personal touch in mind, all of Bike Chain Ricci’s staff members are keen cyclists, bringing together a wealth of knowledge and experience unmatched in the larger cycle stores. Back in the workshop is where all the magic hapens. Bike Chain Ricci’s in-house technicians boast skills and services which simply cannot be bought off the internet, whether you are looking for a quick tune-up or a full service. ause of their revalatory bicycle frame production techniques.

PARTNERSHIPS Fuel, Refuel, Relax

Bike Chain Bissoe - sister establishment to Bike Chain Ricci - has been the home of One and All Cycling since its humble beginnings. The bike hire and cycling-themed cafe is filled with historic cycling memorabilia donated by iconic patrons and professional cyclists. Nestled amongst the old quarries and smoke stacks of yesteryear Cornwall, Bike Chain Bissoe offers a welcome respite from a hard day’s cycling, be it on the road, BMX track or crosscountry trail.

It offers a place to sit, rest those weary legs, and appreciate the beautiful scenery. Or, for the discerning cafe cruiser, a freshlyground Lavazza coffee and a choice of locally-sourced, handcooked food prepared by their experienced catering staff.

Skills, Coaching, Development One and All Cycling provide qualified coaches and enthusiastic group leaders to take cyclists of all ages and fitness levels on organised rides. Every Sunday morning sees the departure of hundreds of amateur cyclists from Bike Chain Bissoe in skill groups ranging from leisure and sportive to race-level speeds.

We also have numerous world-class patrons that, as professional cyclists, act as mentors and inspire both the junior and adult riders. These patrons include ex-world track cycling champion Wendy Houvenaghel, ex-professional road racer Tom Southam, and current professionals Chris Opie, Steve Lampier and Yanto Barker. All were born in or have strong links with Cornwall. As well as Sunday group riding, One and All Cycling also cohost the Cornish Series criterium races and local time trials.

PARTNERSHIPS Skills, Coaching, Development

The Academy structure caters for any Under 18 rider in the club who will participate in weekly coaching sessions to develop on- and off-bike skills. Targeted coaching of the ‘development squad’ then provides an opportunity for talented riders to progress through more structured advice, training and support. Through the Academy riders have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of cycling disciplines including Road and Time Trial, Mountain Bike, BMX, Track and Cyclo-Cross. One and All Cycling has always been very keen to encourage younger members to join and has access to a closed circuit which is available for use at weekends to run safe, off-road skills training sessions for youth riders as well as senior club members. We also provide areas for indoor group training sessions during the winter months.

The Cycling Award for Young Volunteers provides young people with a broad range of skills, developed across a wide range of activities. Running a club, officiating at events and an insight into coaching are all covered through a mixture of workshops and club placements. This provides young people with a great insight into how the sport operates. Go-Ride is British Cycling’s development programme for young people. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills.

PARTNERSHIPS

Quality, Endorsed, Iconic

Trek have been Bike Chain Ricci’s supplier of choice from the very beginning due to their quality of production and great business ethic. Even when stocking Cannondale, Merida and Neilpryde bikes in-store, Trek and their in-house components company Bontrager are always at the forefront of our supply chain. When Trek began in 1976, their mission was simple: to build the best bikes in the world. In the eyes of many - including professional racers - they have succeeded. They are sponsors of professional racing team Radioshackleopard-Trek, supplying them with their flagship models the Madone and the Domane - both of which Bike Chain Ricci proudly stock.

Quality, Endorsed, Iconic

Cannondale have been innovating from the very beginning, which is why they are also one of our chosen manufacturers to stock. Setting such industry standards as the BB30 bottom bracket, Cannondale are a truly thoroughbred company with historic racing credentials. Similarly to Trek, Cannondale also sponsor their own professional racing team - Cannondale Pro Cycling. The team have seen global success across the pro-tour calendar, harbouring cycling superstars like Peter Sagan. In-store, we now currently have the world-famous Supersix Evo and Synapse road bikes ready and waiting to roll!

Five years later he was riding for Pendragon Sports-Le ColColnago cycling team - a Bike Chain Ricci-associated team. Chris’ biggest break came when he was signed for Nigel Mansell’s Team UK Youth in 2011. Chris took stage wins at the Canary Wharf and Aylshum stages of the 2013 Pearl Izumi Tour Series.
